In the pageant world where the spotlight shines brightly on stages, it is often perceived that a crown represents the ultimate triumph. However, I am here to share a truth that extends beyond the glitz and glamour – a truth that encompasses resilience, determination, and the extraordinary power to shape our own destinies.

Hello friends, I am Beatrice Nortey, widely known as Akosua from the 2021 TV3 Ghana's Most Beautiful (GMB) fame, where I proudly represented the Oti Region and became the first contestant from the region to reach the finals.

If you’re new, welcome to my world, let’s get up-close and personal. My story cannot be told without reflecting upon pageants, particularly GMB, which propelled me into the limelight and played a pivotal role in my career. So, sit back, relax, and indulge as I take you on a journey.

Once upon a time, I stood on that stage, fixated on the crown, my heart pounding with dreams of victory. However, applause subsided, stage lights dimmed and I came to realize that true success is not confined to a single moment. Disappointment, I learned, is not a dead end, but a crossroad, an opportunity to choose a path less traveled, a path that leads to something even greater.

Today, I speak not as a reigning queen, but as a testament to the boundless potential that lies beyond a stage and a title. I turned my passion towards a different canvas – the world of real estate. The journey wasn't without its challenges, but each setback was a brushstroke that painted my path to success.

Building on my real estate career from the ashes of a pageant dream was my way of transforming disappointment into destiny. And let me tell you, the journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. With every property I've sold, with every client I have helped, I've realized that the power to create a life of fulfillment lies within us.

Okay, let’s back it up a little…after GMB, as my Naija brethren will say, “my eye clear”. Immediately after my Thank You Tour, life returned to factory settings and I had to face the harsh world of life after the big stage.

Fame without fortune, a strong support system, opportunities, etc. can be grueling. Expectations from, family, community, work colleagues, etc. coupled with personal expectations and a new thirst for “the high life” high society can be daunting. I beat myself up and drove myself into darkness while grappling in despair.

Turns out I was even one of the lucky ones because I had a job to return to; something to keep busy and cater for yourself. Apparently, it takes others about 5 years to bounce back and it’s not surprising because only but a few GMB contestants are still heard of today.

I stand as a testament to the incredible potential within each of us and I invite you to join me in embracing the journey, in recognizing that disappointment is not final, but a doorway to greatness waiting to be opened.

So, to everyone who has felt the sting of defeat, whether in pageant, education, sports, marriage or whatever your feat may have been, remember this: disappointment is not final. It's the beginning of a narrative that you hold the pen to. The real victory lies in how we rise after a fall, how we transform challenges into opportunities, and how we turn crowns into careers that leave a mark far beyond the now.

Let's rewrite our stories, redefine our triumphs, and turn our crowns into careers that empower us to create the lives we desire. Because beyond the spotlight, beyond the crowns, lies a world of opportunities just waiting for us to seize.

In geology, prospecting is the search for minerals, fossils, precious metals etc by drilling and excavation.

In business and sales, it means identifying potential customers through networking, cold calling etc.

For a sales person, that means filling your sales funnel.
It is the most difficult part of sales and is usually undesirable to many sales people.

News flash, you cannot succeed in sales and business without active prospecting. Your most important clients, like minerals and precious metals are out there somewhere; “hidden” and not easily accessible. You have to go and find them.

For me, the thrill of dressing up, striding in high heels, meeting new people and building rapport is the icing on the cake.

Prospecting has easily become my favorite part of Sales.

The problems in life are almost unending: solve one and two more arise, sometimes we even end up creating more in the process of solving one. As the social media savvy would say: “problem e no Dey finish”

I have come to realize however that by helping others solve their problems/needs, we unknowingly relieve ourselves of ours. Yes sometimes our own problems can be so overwhelming that we can’t even recognize ourselves, let alone others
But people, if there’s anything I have learnt so far, it is the fact that every time we commit to something higher than ourselves, the universe, life, God, takes care of us
We get relieved of our own problems.
Commit yourself to a cause/purpose higher than yourself; humanity, divinity, environment, etc and your business will be taken care of.
The Bible even asks us to take care of God’s business and He will take care of ours.
Charity, community service, leadership, activism, etc are all ways of taking care of God’s work
Always keep an attitude of service and you will be cared for.

I urge you all to try something new: give kindness, service to humanity and purpose a chance today and you’ll certainly bask in endless joy and fulfillment
