I burned the boats,
And they called me delusional.
I cannot blame them,
my grin felt mad.
I watched the smoke Billow from the flames and turn into terror but my eyes only saw the release.
"We were supposed to take those boats home..."
Now we have no choice but to continue...
I looked into the men's eyes, they were broken and betrayed.
" Yes, I burned the boats.... But I also saved your lives."
The burning wood cracked, clapping loudly, The only applause I received.
If they want to survive, We need more than the beach.
