No-one cannot have been moved by the recent events in Ukraine and the human tragedy that has ensued. Our staff agreed that they would like to raise funds for the charity; Children on the Edge that helps Ukrainian refugee families.

The money raised will be used to help to fund partner organisations on the ground. To cover the costs of basic essentials, such as fuel and heating, and to run the centres where the refugees are being hosted.
.
We hope this will go towards those families directly impacted and support the need for peace everywhere.

It's deadline day and our team have been working hard to get our clients tax returns filed before the end of the day.

Like a pressure cooker, the workload increases right to the end of January, so we like to have a celebratory lunch to mark the end of the "tax return season".

Here's some of our team enjoying some well-earned pizza!

HMRC have issued a statement this morning to advise that they will be waiving Self Assessment late filing penalties and late payment penalties for 2020/21 tax returns for one month. The filing and payment deadline remains as 31 January 2022, but penalties will not be issued as long as returns are submitted and payments are made by 28 February 2022.

However interest will still be charged on late payments from 1 February 2022.

We will continue to work towards the 31 January deadline for all our clients as usual but this will provide some extra time, if required, where penalties can be avoided.

Kira is the Marketing Director at Chartered Accountants Carpenter Box, keen supporters of the Worthing and Adur Chamber and the local business community. She maintains responsibility for the firm’s marketing and communication strategy and focuses on putting clients at the centre of its thinking. She is also a Trustee of its Charitable Foundation. Prior to joining Carpenter Box in 2016, she spent eight years at leading business intelligence company Informa, helping to drive their digital transformation.
