A great last day celebration for us all 😀

We asked our residents at Melrose for some of their memories around the Queen and her Coronation.

Here is some of what they told us …….

We celebrated this weekend not only the queen but a very special staff member Helen on her retirement.

Thank you for all the love life and fun you bring every day.

Hoping you will still keep coming in to see us as well as enjoying your retirement 😀

A wonderful day together celwbrating the Queens Platinum Jubliee.

We enjoyed jazz music by Tea for Two whilst we spending time with our families and friends. We all had such fun.

Hopefully this is just the start of more such opportunities.

Don’t forget today we have a Cream Tea 😀

We have all enjoyed the most wonderful day today at Melrose.

It was the first day we have been able to enjoy families and residents together since the pandemic.

It really was so very special.

Thank you to Debbie for the wonderful food and the Care Team for helping everyone to join in if they wanted too.

We had yet another trip out this weekend down to the sea front and not to be lefts out amongst the many others down there we got to enjoy and Ice Cream 😀😎

We have all enjoyed yet another very special visitor to Melrose today Milo a Golden Doodle.

Thank you Katie for sharing your dog with us all 😀.
Animals bring so much happiness on so many levels.

Seeing dogs was one of the key things our residents missed during the Covid season.

We are so pleased they can come back in to see us now 😀

We all enjoyed another really wonderful Sunny Saturday when we had a very special visit from Natalie along with the opportunity to take a trip to the park.

Such a great day. Thank you Melrose Team for being the best 😀

It’s good to be able to get out and about today and get to enjoy a cuppa at the local Brewhouse 😀.

Today the residents of Melrose had opportunity to explore the meaning of
Earth day
Today 🌍 is a day to celebrate our planet and renew our support for environmental protections.

➡️ Every individual action makes a difference!
➡️ There are plenty of ways to reduce waste and be sustainable!
This is what we learnt ….
There are a few simple suggestions to help our environment and
lower carbon emissions - you may add more of your own

🌍 Unplug appliances when not in use.
🌍Don't drive if you can walk, bike, or use public transport. Car share with someone.
🌍Use libraries for toys and books.
🌍Carry a reusable cutlery set and bring it with you so you don't need to use plastic cutlery or straws.
🌍 Cook fresh and grow your own veggies.
🌍 Avoid balloons at celebratory events.
🌍 Turn off lights when you're not in the room.
🌍 Pick up rubbish if you see it and teach our kids to do this.
🌍 Use natural cleaning products in the house and on your skin - less plastic and carbon zero.
🌍 Air dry your clothes not using your dryer can save alot of energy.
🌍 Buy clothes from sustainable outlets.
🌍Don't ask for a receipt you can get it emailed.
🌍 Recycle and buy fresh unpackaged food where possible

🌏 Let’s environmentally support our earth everyday

We have enjoyed the sunshine of late and getting back into the garden.

We have found that being outside in the fresh air has felt so good.

We even managed to complete a Jigsaw together too.

Summer is on the way 😀

A busy day for some of us at Melrose today.
We started off with our exercise group where some of us were a bit more camera shy!

We then headed into a scrabble challenge.
I won’t let on who the winner was.
Good fun was had by all 😀

This week at Melrose a Thursday morning gave the opportunity for a nice cup of Coffee whist challenging our minds with some word search puzzles.

Well done everyone 😀

All of our team are absolutely amazing.
We are always so much better together and we can achieve so much more for our residents.
