🔨 WORK DAYS – DOWN THE VIPERS 🐍

As we get ready for the 2026/27 season, we're asking members, players, parents and supporters to give a few hours to help get the clubhouse and grounds looking their best.

📅 Saturday 27th June (9am–1pm)
📅 Saturday 25th July (9am–1pm)
📅 Saturday 8th August (9am–1pm)

No experience is needed and there will be jobs for all abilities. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the full session, every bit of help makes a difference.

🍔🍺 The final work day on 8th August will finish with a BBQ and a few beers as a thank you to everyone who has helped out.

Many hands make light work – come along, lend a hand and help keep the Vipers strong!

🐍 MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT 🐍

Please join us in congratulating Dan Parrington on being appointed Vipers 1st Team Captain for the 2026/27 season.

🗣️ A message from Head Coach Dave Johnson:

“First of all, I’d like to thank Matt Salmon, who has captained the 1st Team over the last few seasons. After speaking with Matt about my decision to make a change in leadership, his attitude was absolutely outstanding.

His response was: ‘Not being captain won’t change the way I play for the team. I’ll continue to give everything for my club and get right behind Dan.’

The players I’ve spoken to over the last few weeks all share this infectious attitude, which is fantastic. It’s something you simply can’t coach — it’s embedded within the club.”

“Dan was not a difficult choice for me. I’ve worked with him at Leicester Thursday and he’s a leader both on and off the pitch. He has a great rugby brain, immense talent, and leads by example. My job now is to settle him into one position and allow him to excel.”

The 1st Team Vice-Captain, 2nd Team Captain and Vice-Captain will be announced during pre-season.

🗣️ Dan had this to say:

“After hearing a new coaching set-up was coming in, I was a little on edge. Dave has asked me to stay involved and help coach, which is brilliant news.

To then be asked to become Club Captain is a huge honour. I’ll be looking to help drive this club forward both on and off the pitch, whether that’s with the senior teams or being involved around our mini and junior sections.”

Congratulations, Dan. We look forward to seeing you lead the club into the new season. 💚
