We really appreciate the lovely messages we receive from our patient's regarding our team at Eric Moore.

I just wanted to pop you a quick email to say thank you so much for everything you did for me last Monday, I don’t recall an awful lot but I am told you reacted quickly and stayed with me for some time waiting for the ambulance to arrive. I am really grateful you came out to the house and got me the help I needed.
VETERANS

We want to hear people’s views about mental and physical health services for veterans in England
April 2022.

NHS England and NHS Improvement has launched a survey to find out people’s views and experiences of veterans mental and physical health services.

The information gathered will be used to help inform the development and provision of these services in the future. As part of this exercise, we would particularly like to hear people’s views and experiences of Op COURAGE: The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, as well as the Veterans Trauma Network (VTN), which is for Service-related physical health conditions.

Op COURAGE: The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is the collective name for the:
• Veterans Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service (TILS)
• Veterans Mental Health Complex Treatment Service (CTS)
• Veterans Mental Health High Intensity Service (HIS)

Current contracts for the three services within Op COURAGE will end in March 2023, and so the NHS needs to make arrangements for new service contracts from April 2023.

As with the current service model, it is proposed that Op COURAGE will continue to be delivered in partnership with a range of organisations from across the NHS, Armed Forces charities and wider charitable sector.

To inform plans for the new service contracts, we want to hear your views on how we can enhance the current provision, such as improving support for substance misuse and gambling addictions, as well as how we can address any issues that veterans may have experienced in accessing treatment.

The VTN provides specialist care and support for veterans who have physical health problems due to their Service in the UK Armed Forces. As the need for the VTN becomes greater, the NHS is looking at future arrangements on how it can improve care and treatment for these veterans.

You can share your views and experiences by completing a survey, which anyone can complete, however, we are particularly keen to hear from:
• people who have served in the UK Armed Forces (reservist or regular) and have used or are currently using NHS veterans’ services in England
• veterans with a mental and/or physical health condition who have not sought or received healthcare, treatment or support
• Service leavers
• family members and carers of the above
• staff and organisations that are providing healthcare, treatment or support for veterans and their families.

For further information, please email [email protected]

🐶 Child safety around dogs🐶

what dog breeds are most likely to attack children?

In fact, any breed of dog can bite. And 9 in 10 dog bites to children happen in the home with a dog they know, often a family pet rather than the dangerous dog breeds you read about in the news.

Luckily most bites are preventable.
It’s so important for expectant parents and families with a pet dog to have simple advice about how to keep their children safe.

84 children drowned over three years in England alone.
Child Accident Prevention Trust are joining the World Health Organization (WHO) to help prevent drowning.

Keep little children in arm’s reach whenever they are in or near water. And, check for ponds, pools and hot tubs if you’re visiting new places.

Talk to older children about the dangers of open water like strong currents you can’t see, very cold water that can cause shock and objects lurking under the surface. And teach them to float.

YoungMinds | Mental Health Charity For Children And Young People 21/07/2023

Have you got a child that is moving from primary school to high school? Make some time to talk to them about it.
Here are some tips on how to ease any worries or anxiety they might have:

🧍🏽‍♂️Chat about how they are feeling and how it will be different from primary school - for instance bigger site, new people, changing teachers and rooms for subjects, more homework.

🧍‍♀️ Reassure them that nerves about starting something new are normal, as is some sadness at leaving familiar things, and that these feelings usually get easier with time.

🧍🏿 Be careful not to impose your own worries. Instead, try and focus on exciting opportunities - new subjects, activities and friends.

🧍🏻‍♀️Celebrate the milestone of finishing primary school, and all the ways they have grown. This can help to boost their self-esteem and confidence.
