RESCUE SPACE FOUND. ♥️

UPDATE - Thank you to everyone who has commented and shared this post. To anyone who has amazingly offered to foster Lexie, please either call the rescue or email [email protected] and we can send you out a form.

Lexie would be euthanised today (Thursday) if we couldn’t help her but we WILL NOT let that happen. Whilst working towards securing her a rescue space/foster home which can take some time, we will pay to keep her in boarding kennels to ensure her life is saved.

*URGENT FOSTER HOME/RESCUE SPACE NEEDED*

We were contacted this evening in regards to this beautiful girl called Lexie. Unfortunately she had been taken into the vets to be put to sleep as she didn’t get along with the new puppy in the household. The vets refused to euthanise Lexie but unfortunately time is running short for this precious girl, she only has until tomorrow.

Due to the current circumstances and incredible rise in the need to rescue spaces, we are currently running at full capacity here at Freshfields. This means we do not have any room on site to house Lexie and need to find her a safe space ASAP.

We are either looking for a rescue space for Lexie or a foster home near to our Liverpool site as a matter of URGENCY.

Lexie is a 6 year old SBT. From what we have been told she is a lovely girl but is reactive to other dogs. She is also nervous of men, possibly due to a prior home. Aside from this she is a very loving and affectionate girl & absolutely DOES NOT deserve to lose her life. We cannot and WILL NOT let this happen.

Everyone meet our new Gems, Topaz, Ruby and Opal ❤️

We had 3 unexpected arrivals yesterday, a kind and very worried person arrived and told us they’d found a mum and pups running in a notoriously busy local road used mainly by lorries 😫 they had managed to get them safely into their car to bring to us for advice. We simply were not prepared for the condition of the dogs who we rushed into one of our bedrooms 💔 more innocent victims of the breeding and neglect that plagues our “nation of dog lovers”.

Mum dog is weak, emaciated and barely able to walk, dragging her back end behind her and collapsing frequently. Her babies are too old to be feeding from her, but are ravenous and still begging for milk which she no longer has 😔 Despite this, mum is the sweetest gentlest girl you could ever meet and once shown any kindness she is stuck to you like glue. The definition of a loyal faithful German Shepherd, and this is how she is repaid for her loyalty 😔 our team are sadly used to seeing neglect but she has truly broken our hearts. She is so gentle and loving, she has no reason to be so nice when it’s humans who have used and abused her but she is a kind, trusting girl grateful for any affection 💔

Mum is starving and has been trying to eat soil, as well as her own faeces, and when she does this her hungry babies ask her to regurgitate it 💔 we are appalled to think that this is sadly how they may all have been surviving recently. No mother and babies should ever be neglected and denied the care that they need, mum has clearly given everything she has to try to keep these babies alive. We wonder if there were any more, and if so what has happened to the rest of the litter 😔

If you know or think you know the breeder who has allowed this to happen to these lovely dogs, we would welcome their details for the criminal investigation process.

In any case, they are now safe, warm and comfortable, with bellies full of good food and vet care ahead. We do not know yet whether Mum’s physical condition is capable of improvement but we will do absolutely everything we can to give them all the best chance for a happy future, it is the very least they deserve after the suffering they have been through.
