Paul set off from Chorley at 6am this morning on an incredible run all the way to his workplace in Runcorn and of course when he asked if he could use St Rocco’s as a refueling stop, it was an easy yes!

A line of our staff and volunteers were ready and waiting to cheer him in as he arrived at the hospice for a quick pit stop, before heading off again on the rest of his journey. What an amazing effort, and it’s not over yet!

In just 10 weeks, Paul is also taking on The Lap in Windermere, an epic 47 mile ultra marathon!

Remarkable fundraising group to walk 70 miles in 30 hours for St Rocco’s Hospice A remarkable group of fundraisers are preparing to walk around 70 miles in a day to fundraise for St Rocco’s Hospice.

We are excited to announce we have two exclusive places at next year’s London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026!

This is a fantastic opportunity to run in one of the world's most iconic races, along with making a real difference to local people and families in need of specialist care, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

On Friday, we had the pleasure of visiting Kids Planet Great Sankey to say a big thank you for their fantastic fundraising, an amazing £700 raised from their Bunny Hop! 🐇🎉

We had the privilege of welcoming the children from St Alban's Catholic Primary School yesterday, who sang beautifully for our patients, families, staff, and volunteers. They had been practicing for months, preparing songs from various eras, and their hard work truly shone through. The children are a real credit to St Alban’s.

They sang for our We Care coffee afternoon before moving on to the ward, followed by some well-deserved juice and easter cakes in the sunshine! ☀️

We at St. Rocco’s Hospice are proud to stand behind Hannah as she takes on her very first Sheffield Half Marathon this Sunday. Hannah is running in loving memory of her Grandma Kathleen, who passed away in October 2024 after a brave battle with cancer. Grandma Kathleen was a cherished member of her family and a devoted volunteer who held our hospice close to her heart.

Though long-distance running is a challenge for Hannah—anything over 5km isn’t usually her cup of tea—she has committed to three months of dedicated training to honour her Grandma’s legacy. Her journey is not just a personal challenge; it’s also a heartfelt effort to raise much-needed funds for St. Rocco’s Hospice, where we provided comfort and care during her Grandma’s final weeks.

Every penny raised will help us continue our vital work supporting people with life-limiting illnesses and caring for their families. We invite you to join us in cheering Hannah on and supporting her fundraising efforts. Your donation, no matter the size, will help carry forward the spirit of care and compassion that Grandma Kathleen so deeply cherished.

Together, we reflected on all the incredible things you’ve done in 2024 – from knitting and cake baking to skydiving and even performing the Full Monty! 🎂✈️🧶💃

Thanks to your passion, talents and kindness, you’ve raised a phenomenal £190,000 to help us care for our patients and families, both here at St. Rocco’s and in the community. 🏡💚

We truly couldn’t do it without you. Thank you, Warrington – you are simply amazing. ✨
