๐ŸŽƒHappy Halloween๐ŸŽƒ

What does your Podiatrist really think when they see your feet?!

This Halloween we ask our Podiatrist and Foot Health Practitioner friends and colleagues who specialise in foot and lower limb care if working with feet every day is really as gross as people think ๐Ÿคข

With thanks to:
LR Podiatry, @amymacleanpodiatry, BxClinic, Potty Purple Podiatrist at Lane Ends, @sidaspodiatryclinic, The Foot People Podiatrists, Dave James - The Foot and Leg Magician and our very own Veronica James and Jessica Harding
Time with the Potty Purple Podiatrist at Lane Ends always includes Tik Toks

New Purple Clogs for us!!
Keeping on top of all the latest skin care information was made so much easier this year teaming up with a colleague and learning together.

Due to the time difference with America we managed a few walks, drinks and visited the neighbours ๐Ÿ„ as well hours of online lectures.

Thanks Potty Purple Podiatrist at Lane Ends

It was over two years ago that I first headed north to meet Dianne.

A slightly bonkers podiatrist who was doing some amazing videos.

Two years later, we are still doing our thing.

She's more purple too, which is an added bonus.

Her energy is infectious.

If you've not followed her page then you should do and you can link to it here --> Lane Ends Podiatry.
Can someone find these feet please, it's driving me nuts!
My pal Dave, asked a bunch of us to create a video about how we became podiatrists and to sum up how we feel about it in one word, this is a montage of the one word answers ๐Ÿ˜ he got.....
Hot on the heels of the changes to prescribing vitamin 12 injections according to patient need in the recent BNF, campaigner Martyn Hooper is also influencing the NICE guidelines too.
I'm liking the momentum on this crusade... Not before time, great work Mr Hooper!
Progress at last for people with Pernicious Anaemia, PA, (inability to absorb vitamin B12, which is essential for good nerve health).

For anyone who doesn't know, people with PA have been fighting to get their injections as frequently as they need them. Often this needs to be much sooner than the 'traditional' 3month intervals. That traditional dosage model was based an old study done in the early 1900's involving just a handful of cases and was well overdue for review.

About time it was brought into 2018 thinking.

Hopefully this new move will help people prevent nerve damage and even some forms of dementia. Well done The Pernicious Anaemia Society!
Look at this for an amazing piece of creative work from my local florist Molly Blooms the Florist!!!
Over an hours work in putting this 100 rose bouquet together!! #respect
While I'm busy being a sick note snotty nose, ๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ช Michelle is up at 5am with the Tweety birds reporting on this mornings 'muddy mountain' adventures with Tommy and getting emotional too. Telling the story of the journey to Rock Steady Boxing so far.

Potty Purple Pod and the fungus fight: Case Study

Last October an active lady in her early 40s came to see me, feeling very down about the appearance of her toenails.

She had tried all sorts of things to try and rectify it over a 20 year period. Her doctor took nail clippings for testing and gave her something to use on it but it didnโ€™t work. She also tried all sorts of over-the-counter remedies, all to no avail. When she came to see me, she was at her wits end about these nails; frustrated that she was unable to wear her sandals without feeling self-conscious. Of course, as soon as Potty Purple Pod saw them, I knew I could help!

You can see from the pictures that multiple toe-nails were affected. I knew that the chance of topical treatment alone (that is putting something on the nail) was likely be inadequate to clear them. We would need systemic treatment (which is taking a course of tablets) as well to get the best results for her.

I saw my client every couple of months for follow-up and was able to track the progress of improvement of the nails.

Literally a week ago I was on a hospital operating table for 8hours undergoing major surgery of 3operations in one: left side mastectomy, DIEP flap reconstruction and a mastopexy on my right side (so that both boobs are on same level๐Ÿ˜œ)

You all know me as an optimist, but even I in my wildest dreams didn't think I would be feeling this good this soon! I expected it to take at least 3 weeks to be anywhere near!

Thank you to my friends and family for being there to support me through this ordeal you are a massive part of my recovery. You are not all in this pic, but you know who you are.

I thank also the staff of Ward 3A Whiston Hospital, my brilliant talented surgeons Mr Koshy and Miss Chagla, your excellent skills & care got me through those challenging early days post op.

I thank my body for having the resilience to tolerate what it's been put through and bounce back this fast, rest assured I take none of it for granted!!

To that end I will be doing my daily physio exercises and wearing my @sockwellusa compression socks to prevent DVT / pulmonary embolus formation.
If you are wondering why compression socks are needed for 6weeks post operatively,I will be covering that soon in collaboration with @adintegrum.

Oh and if you are wondering what I'm eating @thegriffinboldheath , it's a slice of mocha torte (20p goes to @macmillan cancer support for every portion sold) that's reason enough for me to justify scoffing one!

"Absolutely fantastic service and such friendly lady. Helped with my ingrowing toe nail and the after care help is first class. Would highly recommend."

I love fixing peoples sore ingrown toe nails!

Thank you all for enquiring about how I'm feeling about my forthcoming surgery for breast cancer.

What I can reassure you is, is that I'm not feeling much about it. I don't allow myself to dwell on the things that I can't do anything about...

What I do dwell on is what I'm going to be able to do on the other side- and that is lifting weights like this!

I will get back to doing it! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’œ

Just letting you all know I'm going to be away for a few weeks... as many of you know, I got diagnosed with breast cancer and I have to have some surgery for it.

But don't worry! There's plenty of resources on my website with blogs on things like ingrown toenails, fungal skin and nail infection as well as verrucas- to help you help yourself while you wait for me to come back.

Keep an eye on my socials for updates and I'll be sharing lots of my blogs with you in the meantime! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Suffering with cracked heels?

It's National Feet Week and a chance to prioritise your feet and get them ready for spring!

My 'wet wrap' method is a great way to banish dry skin and leaves your feet feeling nourished and baby soft!

The BEST thing is... you can do it at home! All you need is 2 pairs of socks and some Urea cream (10-20%.)

STEP 1- Soak the heel of one sock in some warm water. Squeeze out the excess leaving you with a soggy heel and in-step area.

STEP 2- Rub the urea cream into your heel, smooth on ensuring even coverage and then put the wet sock on first, followed by the dry sock.

STEP 3- Leave on and wear overnight to let all the good stuff do itโ€™s magic! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ‘ฃ http://ow.ly/NXcW50IfKwC

One of my favourite products to use in clinic is the Body Essentials Warm Your Sole Oil.

The action of massaging the oil into the skin helps to improve circulation and the warming effect of the ginger ingredient feels really lovely. People love it and it is one of our best selling products that we supply for cold feet and toes!

What Is Swift? - Potty Purple Pod 20/01/2022

What Is Swift? - Potty Purple Pod

Can you tell how much I love my Swift machine! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ’œ

But why do I love it so much?

Let me start by explaining how the treatment works. Swift creates a โ€œheat shockโ€ in the targeted skin cells. The heat shock receptor proteins in the cell are activated and have a โ€˜rebootโ€™ effect on the ability of the immune system, to recognise the viral particles (Langerhans cells) and recruit the T-cells to kill off the virus.

Data shows that it is 76% more effective than anything else currently out there!

It can take time to treat verrucas with Swift, so what are you waiting for? Click below to contact me or find out more!

What Is Swift? - Potty Purple Pod Donโ€™t be surprised if you havenโ€™t heard of the Swift treatment before. Itโ€™s a new technology, that was launched in the UK back in 2016. In fact, I was one of the first clinics to invest in the swift treatment and itโ€™s transformed my treatment of verrucas ever since! I often get asked, what.....

Purple and proud!

Are your feet hurting you? Are you embarrassed about revealing that funny looking toe nail to the world? Maybe that verruca that just wont go despite everything you have tried is really getting you down? Im only an online booking or phone-call away from helping you fix that. Iโ€™m Dianne the #pottypurplepod and although I look like Im a bit crazy, (which I openly admit to) when it comes to looking after you, I take my job to care for you very seriously. Having spent the last 28 years as a Podiatrist you can bet that in that time I have already seen whatever it is thatโ€™s bothering you or your loved one with your/their feet. Why not get in touch and see how I can help you? I write lots of blogs about the things I help with and how you can help yourself, so feel free to check out my website, the answer to your problem might be on there.

PS if you come to see me, you have to like purple because I have it everywhere! Hugz Dianne ###
