Posted @withregram • @tailsoftobytherescue Proud mum moment🥺❤️
Every since we’ve had Toby he’s been very reactive to children. I think it’s because he had no exposure to them when in Romania. He used to bark walking past children and if next door are playing football outside he’d bark at them.
Now look at him😍 - sound on🔊the ball hits the fence multiple times and he doesn’t bark🤩
On walks we can walk past children playing and he doesn’t react, just walks past✨
So proud of you bud🥰
Cannot recommend @ukdogschool enough, Ami is brilliant and is helping us teach Toby to be a confident happy pup!

When you realise you’re on video and have to give your best ‘blue steel’ before you recall 😎. Well done Ralph 🥰
Well done to Frankie and Mack, they both completed the Adult Beginners course at Hod Manor on Thursday 👏 🌟
Is it a bird?! Is it a plane?! Nooo, it’s Mishka doing her puppy class recall homework 🚀🤩
Very well done to Hugo, Marley, Oreo, Bo, Violet, Dougal and Milo, they all graduated from puppy class last night! ✨ 👏
Weekend 121’s available! Summer is coming, brush up on your dog’s recall, loose-lead walking or general behaviour and make it a Summer where you can take your dog anywhere without worry. Appointments available on Saturdays and Sundays from April. Send us a message to enquire.

Looking very proud of themselves, and rightfully so! 🥰. Well done to Pablo, Bobby, Paddy, Merlin, Arlo & Oscar, who all completed their Intermediate course this week ⭐️ 👏
“Had to share how much Rory has come on with loose lead walking! So grateful for all the advice and tips!”
Ahh we love getting progress videos! Especially when your dog is literally smiling with pride ☺️👏
Well done to Teddy, Cora, Rufus & Zia 👏. They all completed their Adult Beginners course at Hood Manor on Thursday 🌟 🎓
Have you seen a cuter, more attentive line-up of puppies than these guys?! 🥺🥰. Posed to perfection for their puppy graduation pics 👏
Luna, Basil, Polly, Skye, Douglas, Gryffin, Rolo & Ivy
Very well done to Scooby, Molly, Arnie, Rupert and Waffle for completing their puppy course 🥰🎓
This is Bruno, he’d like to show you his ears. They worked super hard yesterday on his puppy 121 🥰
The beauty of 121 training is that sessions can take place anywhere, and focus on whatever you need or want to work on. For Willow, a trip to the pub to learn to settle was the aim of the game this week! 🍻
A little snippet from the start of a lesson on ‘being calm not giddy to get out of the car’ This is such an important behaviour to work on. It not only makes car rides happier for everyone, but also means you reach your destination with a calmer, (and therefore better able to listen/think) dog! 🚗
I often get asked what do I feed my dogs… Butternut Box. It’s a cooked dog food and they go CRAZY for it. The ingredients are human-quality and my only regret is not putting them on it sooner!
Go to butternutbox.com/Cheshiredog for a hefty discount! 🐾 😋

Chester’s New Year’s resolution is to stop stealing things he shouldn’t have and to be more chilled in the house. He’s off to a great start after his first 121!
Does your dog have a New Year’s resolution?!
Ok so it’s fish, not dogs, but yet more proof that complicated behaviours can be taught by positive reinforcement and without the use of pain/fear/punishment! 👏

Posted @withregram • @unilad Something fishy going on here 😅
Scientists in Israel constructed a 'fish operated vehicle' consisting of a water-filled tank, a camera and a computer on top of a set of wheels.
In tests, the onboard camera and computer were able to detect the fish's position in real time and activate the vehicle motors to move the vehicle in the same direction.
Six goldfish were successfully trained to use the bizarre device and managed to find their way around the small room towards a food reward.
The results suggest that fish can adjust their navigation skills 'to a wholly different terrestrial environment'.
The experiments were conducted by a team of researchers at the Ben-Gurion University in Beersheba, Israel and detailed in the journal Behavioural Brain Research.
Strange as it is, it's quite incredible 😮

To book onto one of our Puppy Foundation or Intermediate group courses go to:
https://cheshiredogschoolbooking.as.me/
Courses get booked up extremely quickly with spaces limited.
Due to current restrictions only 2 people (including children) may attend with each dog, and everyone must wear a face mask unless medically exempt.
For dogs aged over 21 weeks, we have the Adult Beginners course. Dogs will need a 121 assessment prior to joining this course. The course is for teaching basic obedience, not for dogs who struggle around other dogs and/or people. The next available spaces for this are in February/March, send us a message to enquire.
121 training - cost-effective and excellent for working on specific problems such as recall, loose-lead walking and specific issues you may have around the home. You’d be surprised that often just one or two sessions can see you make huge progress - we don’t make you commit to weeks or months of sessions! Send us a message to enquire.
From all of us at Cheshire Dog School, we wish you and your dogs a happy, healthy, fun-filled New Year!
Thank you all so much for your continued support throughout 2021. We value you all (both humans AND dogs) very much and can’t wait to see you again in 2022! 🐾 🎉

Little Pippa working those angles like a pro 📸 ☺️. I’m seriously so proud of this girl, you’ve come such a long way from the scared little rescue dog you were a few years ago. Today we worked on having fun in what could be a scary space for Pip. She (and some other dogs like her) have also inspired an online class I hope to launch early next year - perfect for all dogs to have some fun, but especially for those who are nervous!
Ah, the good old puppy ‘glee wee’😂. Lots of puppies will wee when they’re excited or anxious. It happens most often when they greet someone they really like - think of it as a compliment! If your puppy does this then try your best to greet them calmly (not easy for us humans!). For some dogs this will mean completely ignoring them (don’t even look at them) just long enough for them to settle and not do a glee wee. Be warned, whilst most puppies do grow out of this, I have seen older dogs continue to do it long-term, you can help prevent this by not triggering their excitement. Some dogs also seem to benefit from the boost of hormones that puberty brings, much like us humans, hormones help strengthen the pelvic floor. If you have any worries always check with your vet 🐾
We love it when the puppies make sure their owners do their homework 🙌📚. Almost 12 years of CDS and we still get excited every time we see progress ⭐️
