Just a little FYI for all you brown haired brunette lovers….no matter how ashy you go with your colour, tint will always fade warm.

Regular toner appointments, the right haircare products and lowering the temp on your heated tools will always help with colour fade ✌🏻

One thing I’ve learnt over the years is…If your client is pushing themselves out of their comfort zone you should be confident within your skill set and push yourself out of yours too 🙈😍

Important Lessons That I’ve Learnt Since Running My Own Business 🙃

• Working in an industry like ours is so rewarding.
• You win some and you lose some.
• Your biggest competition is yourself.
• You’ll sometimes feel like your in the deep end without any armbands.
• There will be clients that become more like family.
• You will only reap rewards from the seeds that YOU sow yourself.
• Not everyone will love you and what you do.
• Working with toxic people affects your overall work and wellbeing.

Breaking up the base 🙌🏼

During our consultation I explained to my lovely client that It’s a slow and gradual process going from super dark to a lighter more dimensional base. I wanted to keep the integrity of her hair whilst gently pushing it with lightener.

Full head airtouch highlights (bleach with a low strength developer), small smudge root and gloss toner.

We are now on a journey getting to the desired level of lift without damaging the hair structure. All with the help of INNOluxe 💦

The top 3 things that give me the ‘Ick’ as a hairdresser 🙈👎🏻

• Other hairdressers editing their clients face/hair on pictures.

I know we all live in a world of editing and filters but please please please stop doing this, its creating a problem of unrealistic expectations. Hair isn’t always perfect or pristine. Capture your work in its most natural form.

• Other hairdressers ranting or speaking unprofessionally on their posts towards clients.

As a hairdresser and business owner I fully understand that certain situations can leave you feeling frustrated and deflated but please be mindful that your words can leave a negative lasting effect for other clients or potential new clients.

• Hairdressers bad mouthing their fellow stylists work.

One thing I got taught as a young stylist is ‘Your only as good as your last cut or colour’ so when presented with a wonky cut or a glowing root colour, please don’t take to your posts to call out the other stylists work. It doesn’t make you look any better!! Remember, we are all human and can make mistakes.

This post isn’t to leave a bitter taste in anyones mouths it’s just me being transparent and honest. We work in an amazing industry, let’s keep it real and cut out the toxicity on social media ✌🏻❤️
