She is now in the process of completing the body in pearls over string a technique that she had not done before. Keep going Katherine, your Butterfly will be beautiful when completed.

Todays piece of work was stitched by Helen, who decided to do a Letter E, on one of our green silks. Helen has couched her j*p with a Pink stranded cotton using the brick stitch method, and has also used the dark shiny pink leather for the start of her leaves, I can't wait to see the finished piece as I know it will look fantastic

SILK DUPION - this is our preferred material for Goldwork Embroidery comes in a wide range of colours with something to suit everyone, Reds, greens, blues, whites/cream and so many more. Silk dupion is a very forgiving fabric as it does self heal (in most cases). For Goldwork we would always back the silk dupion with a polycotton or calico.
