We've had a challenging few weeks here at David Roundell Services.

First on the list were engine management issues brought about by a build up of carbon on the air intake. The intake was cleaned up in sonic cleaning bath, re-fitted and re-calibrated with Bosch automotive diagnostic equipment. The cold damp weather certainly doesn't help!

We've also had some timing belts on both petrol and diesel VW engines. A number of routine service jobs and plenty of M.O.T. tests. So not much room in the car park as you can see!!!! But at least the sun was out for once 🌞🌞🌞

As the evenings are drawing in and mornings are getting darker, we're finding that light bulb failures now becoming apparent. It's important to get those lights checked, and as it's getting cooler, check those tyres! It is national tyre safety month throughout October after all!!

Wow, we've been hard at work these past few days. For some reason it seems to be "Bring your SUV to David Roundell Services" week! We're not arguing though, always happy to help!

Firstly we've got possibly the biggest brake calipers fitted to a road car I've ever seen!! Compare them against the relatively small Honda 4x4 items in the gallery.

We also also spotted some frightening tyre defects and tyre wear spotted during routine servicing and M.O.T. testing. Both could have separated on their next motorway journey.

Thankfully the school holidays are over with now, but please check your tyres before any kind of trip. Safety comes before anything else!

A few snapshots of our work over the last couple of weeks, from a burnt out headlamp unit on a BMW, regular service work on a variety of makes and models.

Check out the gallery and see the air filter box with 10,000 miles of dust and dirt in it. This shows how important regular servicing is. Not forgetting the M.O.T.'s and tyres! All important things to check with Autumn just around the corner....

Here's a snapshot of this week's jobs.....

Firstly we had a BMW 5 series with noisy engine. Thankfully it was just down to a seized up auxiliary belt tensioner.

We also had plenty of services going through the garage this week. All being treated to Rock Oil's finest!

Next was a Vauxhall that had been lowered, but the customer was unaware it had a broken suspension spring. Luckily we sorted it as the spring was almost falling out with the suspension at full extent. Both rear springs replaced with OE matching quality lowered springs. We're really happy we got to it on its M.O.T.

As always we sorted plenty of punctures and tyres throughout the week.

Lastly we had a BMW with a steering lock warning light on. Bosch diagnostics sorted it and we were happy to see it back in the customer's hands the same day.

A handful of this week's jobs at Roundell's with more variety than you can shake a stick at!

Firstly we have A.B.S. issues on an Octavia fixed and handed back on the same day. Multiple services, engine management work, all fixed and handed back on the same day too.

Sadly we can only do so many miracles a day, so a clutch on a Peugeot 🤮 was not handed back on the same day....

On the flip side we were able to run multiple M.O.T.'s and fit some Evergreen Tyres in-between. All of the cars were in and out so quickly I didn't get time to picture them all! 😅

The sun seems to be hiding today, but it's still another busy week at Roundell's!

First in the workshop this week is a replacement timing belt on a Skoda Citigo. Alongside a mix of services and some substantial repair jobs. We've seen our fair share of Audis, Skodas and VWs this week, and we're happy to give them some auto TLC.

Even though we're busy, we've still had time to take in our monthly delivery of the finest lubricants available from the wonderful Rock Oil !

We've had a garage full this week so we thought we'd share some pictures.

The first set are from an Audi that we've repaired the clutch on. The Audi wouldn't even drive because of a lack of lining on the drive plate (it had been incredibly hot due to slipping so badly).

As you can see from the photos we've had a good mixture: tyres, timing belts, routine services and M.O.T.'s along with the obligatory "can you just" jobs ;)

A busy day here at David Roundell Services with a full workshop. Thankfully the weather's bright and dry so we can take some pictures.
