Yesterday we went to London Bridge inn at #stocktonheath for the first time and it was our first time going to a pub for lunch since the lockdown too. The pub sits by the Bridgewater Canal. We sat inside the pub and saw they seat people quite spaciously which makes me feel comfortable. I love that the menu explained the protocol on their covid measures. For someone like myself who is still cautious it really helps. It did put my mind at ease so I can sit and enjoy the food.

Instead of a Sunday roast I ordered John Willie's Beer Battered Fish and Chips (Large) £12.25 with peas instead of mushy peas. This was as good as the time I had fish & chips down at Felixstowe. The batter was really crispy and the fish was succulent. The homemade tartarte sauce had the right balance of tartness. The fish was as long and big as my fork too (seen in the second pic). Mr D ordered the brewery tower burger (£12.95), where you'll get 2 beef patties, bbq pulled brisket, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, relish and melted cheese served with onion ring and chips. Let's say it was a struggle for Mr D to finish it. Baby T and I shared the rocky road sundae (£6.45) for dessert using local @cheshirefarm_icecream . The only thing was we had to eat it quite quickly as the ice cream turned into a milkshake shortly after it arrived at the table. Yet, the glistening in Baby T's eyes when he saw the dessert was hilarious!

Staff were friendly and attentive. We were also allowed to use our own portable high chair, which fitted nicely on the chair but they do have high chair at the pub too.

Definitely will go back again and try their other food on the menu.

Was walking past this evening and thought we would see if any chance of a table for tea. Staff couldn't have been any more pleasant under the present conditions. First evening meal out since Feb and we were extremely grateful. The food was excellent and the surroundings made us feel very safe. Thanks to all the staff for making our visit so pleasurable. Cannot wait to visit again.

We had dinner at The London Bridge last night and it was so, so nice to feel some sense of normality. Food was gorgeous, service attentive and friendly. I urge people to visit and help to keep this lovely pub open. Yes, there are a few rules, but nothing too awful - just common sense really. Thank you to all of the Team x x
