It’s been a funny/ busy start to the year. I’ve been quiet on social media while I’ve taken some time to focus on family life, getting used to homeschooling and celebrating Little Yogi’s birthday.

With most of the country now in Tier 4 this isn’t looking like the start to a New Year that anyone wanted. I suspect there are still dark times ahead but the light will return and it will shine brighter than ever.

Every morning, whilst she eats her breakfast, I sit in this spot and meditate. There are days when I don’t have the inclination, my mind can’t be bothered or tells me that I don’t need to.
Walking into the room and seeing this reminds me just how much children observe, copy and learn from what they see. Therefore giving myself a kick up the bum is not only good for me but setting a good example to her.
The Dalai Lama once said ‘If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation’

With many people still feeling unsure about returning to face to face yoga sessions I’m continuing some online. The live online sessions will remain limited to spaces so I am able to view, adjust and offer modifications to everyone. I’ve made some time/ style changes to help with the feelings of stress and exhaustion that so many are experiencing at the moment. Pre- recorded taster sessions on a variety of topics are available for those struggling to make the live sessions.

Instagram vs reality! I do my best to switch off from the mess behind the camera but working from home has made me even more determined to have my own studio one day. With gyms and studios opening soon I’ll be changing my schedule over the next few days to accommodate for going back to teach in person and to cater for those students who want to continue online.
Thank you SO much to everyone who has attended my classes, shared and liked my posts, left me amazing reviews and supported me during this challenging time. The transition to teaching online wasn’t an easy one. I’m so uncomfortable with marketing and ‘selling’ myself and I’ve been pushed so far out of my comfort zone. I was racked with nerves that i’ve not experienced since I first started teaching 12 years ago and just when I’m settling into it, it’s all changing again! So I’m embracing it, again! I’m so grateful for this massive learning curve, both professionally and personally and despite the craziness in the world lockdown has been a blessing in disguise. Updated schedule to follow. This made me laugh. I’m sure there are plenty of yogis out there trying to understand the logic behind opening pubs before yoga studios. I personally wouldn’t be returning to work as normal right now as I’m not sure how some of the environments I work in will be able to keep people sufficiently socially distant. But I know there are plenty of yoga studios big enough and sensible enough to make it a very low risk environment. I’d question whether the same can be said for pubs once everyone has a few drinks down their necks. Happy Saturday. Stay safe 🧘♀️🕉💜 xx
I had a fab day yesterday attending a Zoom Yoga for Athletes course and I can’t wait to start applying it to my teaching. I normally wouldn’t have been able to attend it but being in lockdown made it possible. Every cloud has a silver lining.
I love these free 21 day meditations. They always seem to come at a time when I’ve let my meditation practice lapse and they give me a gentle reminder of the difference meditation can make to my life. 🕉🧘♀️💜

I feel like the biggest thing I’ve learned from this pandemic is to let go and go with the flow. This has definitely been reflected in my yoga practice and it seems lots of fellow yogis are feeling the same so my classes have evolved to suit this.
I’ve always been a bit dubious to move into full flow classes as I didn’t want to lose the strength and alignment that I feel is so important to yoga but I’ve had great feedback and so have made changes to my schedule.

I had a conversation about happiness the other day and it spurred me to look for this text in the yoga sutras. I first read this many years ago and The fable of the musk deer is something that really resonated with me. We’re at a stage in our lives when a lot of our external sources of happiness have been removed (unless you rely on online shopping) so it seemed quite fitting to share. 🕉✌🏻💜🧘♀️xx
