Cherry Tree School

Good luck to our Y6 football team as they start their journey to Finch Farm this morning Your School Games
A game of tag to warm up then a tennis ball relay game and reward stickers. A perfect lunchtime session getting everyone moving from our Change4Life Y5 champions, finishing with a song too today!

This week our sports crew has been playing a game called Rock Paper Scissors Run!

Our amazing Y6 Sports Crew have put up posters, gone around classrooms and encouraged the younger children to join in. Not much encouragement was needed apparently they had a lot of children joining in.

Thank you Sports Crew!
Road to Finch Farm Finals Y3
A massive thank you to Mr Hughes and Mr Cope for taking them to Finch Farm!
Here’s Mr Cope’s report;

“8 schools there. Cherry tree were the only ones not from Liverpool. Not sure how but they lost the first game 1-0. Nerves, luck, lack of composure in front of goal, not passing to their mate in a better position. 2nd game won 8-1. 3rd drew 2-2 conceding a last minute goal. This put them in 5th/6th play off which they won convincingly 3-1 and with Aaron scoring a hat-trick. A great experience for them all. They did Cherry Tree proud. Played against some big, physical city kids but never backed down & frankly were the best team in all games they played. As Louis told me & his mates in my car 15 minute games can be a lottery!”

Absolutely amazing!
Woolston C of E School hosted their 35th annual Cross Country competition this afternoon with teams of 4 children from 20 Warrington Schools attending.
Delighted to confirm that Jake WON the boys race!!!!! 🏅

Jake with Eddie, Toby and Ned then won the First placed team shield! 🏆
Our girls team, Emma, Imogen, Lulu and Ellie placed a very close 2nd place!

……And so overall Cherry Tree won the Shield for the First Placed School!

Well done team Cherry Tree!
Y5 completed their swimming lessons this morning, wearing pyjamas, doing a life saving session. Thanks to Lymm leisure centre for a brilliant course of lessons and some lovely comments about their overall strong ability and behaviour. It’s Y6 turn starting next week!
Our junior safety officers ran out of “walk to school” tickets this morning!
Well done Cherry Tree!
Y5 Freya won the under 11’s and came 6 th overall at the RYA Northern Youth and Junior Travellers series in her topper at Hollingsworth lake this weekend ⛵️🛟 Well done Freya!
Y5 Ben enjoying yesterday’s Chin Club Skate camp which also raised £400 for the local skatepark fund
We hear he won the races at the end too! Go Ben!
It was a big defeat for the Lightning Squad but Cherry Tree came out on top with 2 Man of the Match awards for Archie & Ethan! Great performance and effort in the sun ☀️ Well done boys ⚽️

This is the page to showcase Cherry Tree's sporting achievements

Look what Y3 have created for the Christmas tree festival at St Marys Church! Do go along and have a look, it’s free to enter and there are produce stalls, entertainment and crafts. A huge thank you to Governors Jo and George for all their help

Y6 really enjoyed their visit to the army reserve centre in Warrington, on a double decker bus, to the Crucial Crew. Representatives from local agencies and the emergency services led workshops which helped them gain skills to keep themselves and each other safe. Thank you for having us all!

We can’t wait to see our tree! 🎄 🎅🏼

Freya and Phoebe played for Nellies purples today, Freya was coaches player of the game for her amazing interceptions and brilliant space finding and Phoebe was voted players player by the opposition players 🙌💙💜 Well done to you both!

A team of our year 6 children were awarded second place in the ‘Lymm Village Future Vision’ project. The judges praised their ideas and the fantastic model. Well done, Cherry Tree!
The Parish Council had invited Lymm's young people to present their vision for the future of Lymm in words, pictures and models. The entries are on show until Nov 27th at which is open 12-4 Thursday - Sunday - and the exhibition is free to visit.

Lots of children were proudly wearing their pin badges today having received them from Mrs Graham in praise assembly! Thank you so much, we certainly all loved the challenge and some were delighted to hear that we don’t have to wait 12 months until the next challenge and only until April! #2.6miles The aim of the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools was to inspire our whole school to be active by deciding exactly how to meet the challenge. We broke the distance into smaller chunks and completed 2.6 miles over two days. Some cycled on the class F trikes, some walked and ran.
This year, even more children took on the challenge – more than 600,000! – and felt the benefits of being active and healthy and we were proud to be part of it!

Change4Life Wednesday lunchtime club involved football skills, duck duck goose, a World Cup football match and it was all finished off with a good old Hokey Cokey!

Change for Life lunchtime club encourages all children to be active at playtimes. It’s a club we have now been running for 7yrs at Cherry Tree - with Y5 children taking on the leadership role as Champions. This year our champions have clearly learnt from previous Y5 and are so confident in delivering inclusive, fun sessions for all! We had some excellent games on offer and it was difficult for children to decide which group to join. Great job champions!

We miss Ewan now he is a high-schooler but love reading that he’s this week’s junior parkrun Bin Angel and see regularly volunteering

Here it is, the post you've all been waiting for!
This week's Bin Angel is Ewan 😇 *
Ewan loves marshalling at junior parkrun, chocolate buttons, shark wrestling & guarding the bin.

*Ignore the big person next to him, that's Alex, Ewan's dad, who when I told him that Ewan was the Bin Angel, said....and I hope you're sitting down dear readers....said...."WHAT BIN?"
Do not fret, dear readers, he was educated as to what a special honour being the Bin Angel was.
But please note, the Bin Angel is most definitely EWAN 😇😇😇

If you are interested in volunteering, please comment below, send a message or email [email protected]
