Physiotherapy, or Physio as it is more commonly known, is the branch of treatment that employs physical methods to promote healing. Here at “The Physiotherapy Clinic” we provide a range of treatments that help people to regain the use of their body after an injury, or illness. Physiotherapy can also help to slow the progression of long-term conditions, which can help to maintain patients’ quality
Well tomorrow we close the doors of the clinic for the very last time. The Physiotherapy Clinic was founded on the 1st November 1997, moving to Wilson Patten Street the same day, 3 years later, giving exactly 25 years of hopefully good service. Thank you to all our patients, especially the many that remained loyal to us.

3 weeks today will be the end of a 25 year era for The Physiotherapy Clinic. Phil Burke and myself started on the 1st November 1997 at our Causeway clinic, before moving to our Wilson Pattern St. site for exactly 22 years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our patients over the years, especially our very first patient (LT) who still attends when she needs a "Tweak". I would also like to thank my wife Julie, for her encouragement, drive, patience and hard work as practice manager, especially these last few years during Covid.
I look forward to the next 3 weeks, with some sadness but also feel very thankful for a wonderful career helping most of my patients with their aches and pains. Now its time to go home, back to Australia. Thank you all.
Love Phil

Many thanks for your cooperation during these challenging times.

Really slippery journey into the clinic this morning, so if you are venturing out today, please be extra careful. Those attending the clinic, please be careful getting out of your car, as the car park is also quite bad. Thank you
Good morning, just wanted to give an update regarding progress since reopening. We are receiving lots of positive comments from patients about our implemented safety measures, which is wonderful to hear as we are working tirelessly to ensure that every face to face appointment is as safe as possible. Thank you for all the support you continue to give and we will keep on keeping on and get through these challenging times.💙

Another productive weekend
In relation to yesterdays update and regarding any confusion I may have caused about the clinic opening on Monday. To clarify the doors are definitely closed, but I am making myself available for emergency treatments only and it is most definitely not business as usual.
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Physio First, the organisation for Physios in Private Practice, have provided new guidelines for Private practices considering offering Face to Face consultations.
The preferred option for consultation at this present time should still be remotely via 2-way video link up, as all face to face appointments with patients MUST be clinically justified.
During the initial telephone conversation I will be undertaking a full risk assessment and making a clinically reasoned decision for offering either remote or face to face consultation for every patient on a treatment by treatment basis. I will also be screening for COVID-19 signs and symptoms, including those whom the patient has regular contact with for example those living in the same house. We will also perform forehead infrared temperature tests before clinic entry, if the face to face option is decided.
If face to face is deemed necessary by both parties, I will discuss all the new protocols put into place regarding infection prevention and control measures. This will include well spaced out appointment times, with only 1 patient and me in the clinic at any one time. It will also include the use of PPE and decontamination procedures between each treatment sessions.
If you feel that you would like to discuss this further, please leave your name and number on the clinic answer machine-01925 575066 and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Patient and my safety are paramount always in this most unprecedented time.
Thank you and stay safe.
Gday everyone. Just letting you know I am starting to talk to acute/emergency patients, with possible view to offering face to face consultations if it can be clinically justified, under the new guidelines released by our Governing bodies. Due to the current climate I am required to perform a screening process initially to make sure every face to face treatment is necessary and safe. I am obliged to adhere to very strict protocols and safety issues to protect both patients and myself. I have worked very hard for the last few weeks to ensure we comply with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy guidelines. Particularly the procurement of the necessary PPE, which is now in place.
Anyone requiring emergency treatment, please leave a clear message on the clinic phone answer machine, stating your name and contact number. I look forward to hearing from you. STAY SAFE. Regards Phil McKenzie
Unfortunately we are closed due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. We will open again as soon as we get the all clear from our Governing bodies and update the page as soon as any news is available.
Please all be safe, stay at home unless absolutely necessary to venture out. Maintain social distancing, which helps the NHS and ultimately SAVES LIVES.
Good morning- Covid-19 update
Due to the social distancing rules we have had to close the doors of the clinic for face to face consultations. We are still offering a remote service through some of the Health insurance companies and Occupational Health groups via video link up.However, If you just want some advice please leave a message on the clinic number-01925 575066 and I will get back to you as soon as I pick up the messages, which I'm doing several times daily.

Further to the Government's recent updates on the Coronavirus, we would like to advise all our patients, new and old, that it is business as usual and would like to thank you for your continued support. Another full clinic today with another expected tomorrow. Busy keeping treatment areas clean and sterile between patients.
NHS GUIDLINES are asking everyone to
Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms
Stay at home if you have either:
a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.
Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.
Thank you
Phil McKenzie

New sign in reception. Clinic starting to look loved again. It's amazing what a bit of TLC and a load of elbow grease can achieve. Thank you Julie McKenzie for all your hard graft.

Limited availability for the rest of this week. Give us a ring if you need treatment- 01925575066

Busy day ahead

New rear fence at the clinic. Great job by my old Widnes World Club Champions team mate- Dereck Pyke.
Strange week this last one. Had the opportunity to treat Justin Beiber, but had to turn him down as we were too busy and didnt want to disrupt my clients treatment continuity at such short notice. Not sure which gives me the more cred- turning him down or actually being asked?
Please have a look at our new Website and share your views, please. www.thephysiotherapyclinic.gbr.cc
