🎶 Tune It Up Tuesday at The Oaks! 🎶

We absolutely love seeing our residents enjoying a sing-along — and this morning looks like it was full of joy, laughter, and music! 🎤💃

A huge thank you to Tony Rowley for leading the toe-tapping, heartwarming session of classic tunes. Residents, families, and staff all had a fantastic time (and we’re pretty sure Tony did too! 😄).

Music really does lift the spirit — just look at those smiles! 💛🎵

At Sandstone Care Group, all our homes will be taking part in Care Home Open Week from 16th – 22nd June.

Care Home Open Week is an annual event, dedicated to showcasing the warmth, care and vibrant communities that care homes provide. We are honoured to take part and give people the opportunity to step into our homes and discover what makes each one so unique.

Like every week across our homes, they have all planned a full week of fun and activities for residents, and visitors to both take part in or observe! From flower arranging and shell painting to board games and celebratory coffee mornings, it is the perfect opportunity for people to step foot into our homes and see for themselves what makes them so brilliant.

There will also be the opportunity for visitors to engage with our care home residents and staff, and of course other visitors. We are all about community at Sandstone Care Group, and each one of our homes has fostered the perfect community that is worth showcasing!

We will be updating our socials throughout next week on all the wonderful things that our homes get up to so keep your eyes peeled!

Laura Bradford, a valued team member at The Oaks Nursing Home, has been named the latest recipient of the Sandstone Star Award, a recognition given to team members who go above and beyond in their roles. Laura was surprised with a bouquet of flowers and a £100 gift as a token of appreciation from the Sandstone Care Group.

Laura was nominated for her outstanding compassion and dedication, particularly during a deeply emotional moment in the home. After completing a demanding 12-hour shift, Laura received a call asking if she could return to work to sit with a resident in their final hours. Without hesitation, she let her family know she was needed and returned to ensure that the resident was not alone at the end of their life.

Laura's dedication and compassion has not gone unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful to have such an amazing member within our team. The Oaks and Sandstone Care Group is extremely lucky to have Laura 💛

Recently, The Oaks Nursing Home had the pleasure of welcoming Powys Speech and Language Therapy Services as part of their Joining Generations group.

It was so lovely to witness the interaction, shared play, and important moments between the residents and the visiting children. These connections bring so much joy to the residents, staff, children and parents alike!

It really was such a brilliant way to promote communication, and cross generations in the most wholesome way 💛

We’ve had some wonderful birthdays across our homes recently, and it’s always a joy to see the creativity of our teams when it comes to the beautiful homemade cakes.

It's brilliant to see the huge smiles of our birthday girls and boys, because whilst these celebrations may seem small, they create lasting memories for our residents 💛
