When something in your relationship is just ‘not right’ or you are feeling angry and frustrated all the time, ask yourself these questions:
Am I receiving as much as I am giving?
Are my needs being met 50% of the time?
Are my feelings being understood and considered by my partner?

Good communication is essential to move forward. Getting angry or upset will likely make things worse. Having your own personal therapy can be really effective in helping you to explore why you don’t feel worthy enough to demand 50% at the moment.
It is a common misconception that if your relationship is not working then you must need couples therapy. This is not always the case. Exploring your own needs in therapy first and working through these will help you to communicate how you are feeling and put you in a better place to demand your 50%.

Resilience building is a very effective way to control and even eradicate anxiety.
The fuel for anxiety is overthinking and the fuel for overthinking is anxiety.
To break the cycle something has to change.
Do you find yourself involved in everyone else’s business?
Do you feel offended on someone else’s behalf?
Are you constantly worrying about what is going on in the world/country?
Do you worry about what everyone else thinks of you?
Do you have an opinion on everything?

All of these will make your head feel like it’s going to explode. It will feel like you have 10 tv sets all on different channels and you’re trying to concentrate on all of them.
Is it any wonder you can’t switch off and get a good night’s sleep?

Psychodynamic therapy is really effective at dealing with anxiety. It unearths the real reasons why you are feeling so anxious.
It has been an absolute joy to see my extremely anxious clients go from strength to strength and overcome so much.

Biggest client mistake?
Stopping therapy when you are starting to feel better. You are starting to feel better because you are having therapy. Stopping therapy too soon can put you right back to square one.

The realisation that you may have a trauma bond with the person you love is a difficult one. This realisation, in time, can bring about feelings of liberation and empowerment. The fear of being lonely can keep you stuck in a relationship that is harming you mentally and sometimes physically. Therapy can support you through this transitional time in your life; it can help you to confidently move forward and to be the best version of yourself, the version you deserve.

Not everyone is going to like you, that’s their choice.
Resilience-building, improved self-esteem and self-confidence will all help you to not even give it a second thought if someone dislikes you.
In fact, as this person is not ‘for you’ anyway, you will be relieved that they don’t like you as it means they will leave you alone.
If the thought of getting to this point in life really appeals to you but you just can’t even imagine how good it would feel, this is where psychodynamic therapy steps in.

Please check your potential therapist out to make sure they are registered and qualified to help you.
Also check what type of therapy they can provide you with. If your issues have been with you for a long time then maybe you need a deeper approach than nhs CBT or person-centred therapy can give you.
A psychotherapist will help you to unearth the root cause of your issue/s and arm you with the tools to move forward.

Financially, it can be difficult to find the fees each week but there are options to have fortnightly or four weekly therapy too.
