A small corner of a field where an adventure began for a group of friends during lockdown. On Cuerdley Road, Penketh
Operating as usual
Happy Mother’s Day. This trolley is making its first appearance today. Nip down to see our pretty primulas 💐
We are very proud of our purple sprouting broccoli. It tastes great. New season vegetable seeds are being planted. We have surplus plants from cuttings, seeds and divisions that will be on the trolley soon.
The allotment has survived the winter and we are preparing for our new crop seeds to be planted.
From last year some of our veg was successful, some less so. Our onions started off great but then stopped growing. We had carrots and parsnips galore and we’ve not long finished eating our potatoes. The mange tout, green beans and French beans were tasty, the cauliflower and cabbage were not as successful. We are excited about the purple sprouting broccoli that is nearly ready.
Our lovely allotment was our sanctuary during covid and provided us with some delicious vegetables. We are very excited about the new season ahead.
We will also have lots of new exciting plants for our trolley this year so watch this space.
Look out for our beautiful restocked trolley tomorrow. We have zinnias, cosmos, rudbeckias, verbenas, lupins, salad leaves, cucumber plants, bell pepper and chilli pepper plants. We hope you enjoy any purchases as much as we have enjoyed growing them. 🪴☀️😁
Look out for the new additions to our trolley this weekend.
Cosmos and zinnia grown from seed and rudbeckia grown from division along with our usual collection of fruit and vegetable plants.
Here’s how it’s looking….brassica bed, carrot and parsnip bed, sweet corn and potato rows. In the poly tunnel our tomatoes are strung, peppers are potted on and we have the first flowers on our chilli plants. I hope my gardening guru Monty Don would be impressed!
The first photograph was taken in March and the second one was today. Feeling proud of what our hard work has achieved and the results we are seeing.
After planting up our poly tunnel and raised beds we have an excess of plants. We have decided to sell them from a trolley located outside the farm gate on Cuerdley Road. Currently on the trolley are the following plants;
Purple sprouting broccoli
All pots and tubs £1
There is an honesty box and a tub of bags to help you carry your plants home.
