🎂 Celebrating 30 years of Nicola 🎂

In 1995, when Nicola Downs walked into Eckington Court Nursing Home, she was unaware that she was not only about to embark on a rewarding career as a Care Assistant, but she would help make a difference to hundreds - if not thousands - of people who have joined our Derbyshire care home 💕 👏

We had the wonderful Tina entertaining us on Monday and with all that dancing it was only right to have some peace yoga today to help us feel all zen ☺️

Siblings are the friends that we don't choose in life, but that we love forever 🥰 In the case of Harry and Audrey, it truly is a bond that will never break!

This happy brother/sister duo grew up together in Litherland, Merseyside and now live together once again at the wonderful Thornton Hall and Lodge Care Home. When we asked Harry and Audrey about their childhood, they said they never argued - now that's not something we can all say about our siblings! 😅

Well, that's a wrap! Dementia Action Week 2025 is officially over, and what a week we have had here at Orchard 👏

Across our 23 amazing care homes, as well as our central office teams, we've been raising money for Alzheimer's Society and supporting the wonderful work that they do. We've seen charity car washes, sponsored walks, row-athons, eating challenges and plenty of raffles and bake sales 🍰

We are so proud of all of the teams for the efforts that they've gone to for such an incredible cause! Well done Orchard, every single one of you are absolute superstars ⭐

Residents, relatives and colleagues at Ashlea Mews Care Home have come together to raise vital funds for !

Their sponsored walk, which saw them walk over 10,000 steps, has helped raise an incredible almost £200 for Alzheimer's Society - fantastic work, team Ashlea Mews! 🤩

Have you ever seen an upside-down clown and The Flintstones on a walk? Well, thanks to Chatsworth Lodge Care Home, now you have 🤡

You guessed it... today's Dementia Action Week highlight is on Chatsworth's fancy dress sponsored walk! The home got their creative hats on and pulled it out the bag with these amazing, wacky costumes and raised around £200 for Alzheimer's Society in the process 👏

The home have also been busy with cake sales and other activities throughout the week, and we're so proud of their efforts - well done Team Chatsworth!

Well team GP went and did 112.15 miles in the 24hr Walkathon for Alzheimer's Society 🎉
Special shout out for Sharon who is part of our activity team and Louise our head housekeeper for making sure the miles were put in through the night.

Jeff sure has got that Friday feeling after receiving a beautiful new painting for his room 🎨

Over at Green Lodge Care Home, the team had a marvellous Coffee Morning & Art Auction as they raised money for Alzheimer's Society this Dementia Action Week. Local businesses and artists donated the paintings to the home so that they could auction them off for charity!

However, the Green Lodge team bid on one of the paintings so that they could gift it to Jeff at Archers Court Care Home. The team knew that this beautiful painting of Wearmouth Bridge would mean a lot to Jeff, since he is a Sunderland man through and through (and even has the Sunderland FC badge tattooed on his leg)! He is over the moon with this lovely gift 💚

We're halfway through Dementia Action Week and today's spotlight is on... Eckington Court Nursing Home's Charity Car Wash 🚗 🧽

Raising around £100 for Alzheimer's Society, the team went to fantastic efforts to make sure that every single car was squeaky clean! While some residents set up front-row seats to watch the team members do the cleaning, others preferred to get stuck into the action 💯

Everyone who visited the drive-thru car wash was very happy with the results! 5 star cleaning for only £4? What a bargain!

Ready...set...EAT! 🍕

On Monday, Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care Home were joined by TikTok influencer, Ryan Robinson, for a pizza eating challenge in aid of ! Chrissie volunteered to take on Ryan and eat as many slices of pizza as possible, and wow - it was a close call 😅

Beaten by just one slice, Chrissie absolutely smashed it, and has helped to raise some fantastic donations for Alzheimer's Society 💜 Well done, Chrissie! We doubt you'll be eating pizza for a while, but it was worth it...right? 😂 🙈
