We’re posting next week’s activities plans a little earlier as it’s Easter week next week.

What a week we’ve got planned. Being Easter week we’ve got Easter arts, crafts and chocolate treats, plus, Elvis will be in the building on Good Friday and Balloon Artist Alex from Bollington Balloons will be creating some amazing things out of balloons on Easter Sunday.

We’ll also be running our regular Art, Sport and Music Therapy sessions, a sports afternoon, trips out into the garden and lots of unit led activities too.

Another lovely week here at Gainsborough House with something for everyone to look forward to.

As well as our weekly Sport and Art Therapy, PAT dog visit and a service from Rev Rob, we’ve got our unit led activity boxes and an Easter themed arts and crafts session to enjoy.

Gainsborough Grand National!

What an amazing day we had at Gainsborough House for our Grand National sweepstake. Residents, families and staff gathered together for a fun-filled afternoon of excitement, laughter, and a little bit of friendly competition.

Each resident picked their horse out of the hat and the lucky few won fantastic prizes such as luxury hand creams, skincare goodies, body sprays and chocolates. There was even prosecco flowing as we cheered on our favourites!

Yesterday we had a wonderful Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) visit from Home Safari.

A Lizard, a Skunk, a Hedgehog and a Cockateel were firm favourites with our residents, who thoroughly enjoyed getting up close and having a cuddle with them!

We have AAT visits once a month here at Gainsborough House and alternate them between Home Safari and Zoolab so residents experience a large variety of animals. We also have a visit from a Pets As Therapy (PAT) dog on a weekly basis.

On Tuesday afternoon the fabulous Rebecca Done graced us with an unforgettable performance here at Gainsborough House.

She brought a heartwarming 'Tribute to Music Through the Decades' show. From the 40s to the 80s, our residents and their families sang along to timeless classics, reliving the magic of these iconic eras.

It was a beautiful afternoon filled with nostalgia and joy.

This morning, the amazing Sean our Sports Therapist from Rise Sports brought some fun to Gainsborough House!

Residents had a blast with balloon tennis, rugby, and football. Laughter and smiles were everywhere it is such a wonderful way to start the day. Everyone cheering each other on when scoring the goals!

Residents at Gainsborough House had a wonderful Mother’s Day. There was live music from Saxophonist Tina Sax in the morning, and a delicious afternoon tea with cakes put together by our Well-being Lead, Michelle.

It was a lovely quality family for those visiting their mums.
