Spring 23~week 2~ Horses!
Beginners used all their mark making skills to bring these beauties to life.
Returners used charcoal and white coal on toned paper and their stallions are leaping right off the page. Choosing when to stop is all a matter of personal choice. While a complete piece can look utterly beautiful sometimes less can really be more and it’s so interesting how our brains will read complete the charming piece.
Fabulous work everyone! 👏

Spring 23~week 1~ continuous line drawing inspired by Paul Klee. “A line is a dot that went for a walk.”

Returners created graphite portraits of Paul Klee without lifting their pencils off the page twice. First a value study and then simplification. Some went on to create another continuous line piece of swimming fish. Plenty of concentration required!

Beginners learnt sighting and to lay a ground for beautiful tea cup drawings.

Marvellous work beginners!!!
