Celebrating a fantastic evening at the North East Chamber of Commerce Business Awards

Last night our team attended the North East Chamber of Commerce Business Awards at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in Gateshead, an incredible celebration of the brilliant organisations driving excellence across our region.

Integrated Utility Services was shortlisted for Customer Excellence Business of the Year, and while we didn’t take home the award, we’re genuinely proud to have been recognised alongside such outstanding businesses.

Being shortlisted reflects the commitment our teams show every day to delivering a safe, respectful and consistently high‑quality experience for every customer we work with.

A huge well done to all the finalists and winners. The passion, innovation and community spirit in our region made it a memorable evening for everyone.

We’re heading back inspired, energised and more determined than ever to keep raising the bar for our customers and communities.

We were pleased to attend the NEPIC Clean Growth Conference yesterday at Hardwick Hall Hotel, with Jack Lines, Sales and Business Development at Integrated Utility Services, representing the team.

The event brought together organisations committed to driving sustainable growth across the region, exploring how industry can innovate, decarbonise and collaborate to deliver a cleaner, more resilient future in the process industry.

As the first point of contact for many of our customers, Jack works closely with organisations to understand their high voltage needs and long‑term network ambitions.

He conversations throughout the day discussing how proactive high voltage asset management supports cleaner operations, improving efficiency, reducing risk and enabling more sustainable energy use across complex sites.

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with other NEPIC members, share insight and contribute to discussions shaping the future of clean growth in the North East.

This Men's Health Week, we're supporting an important conversation that affects our industry, our colleagues, our friends, and our families.

At Integrated Utility Services, around 80% of our workforce is made up of men, making men's health and wellbeing a priority for our business. Whether it's physical health, mental wellbeing, or encouraging regular health checks, we all have a role to play in breaking down stigma and supporting one another.

The campaign, led by the Men's Health Forum, provides a range of free resources and support to help men live healthier, longer lives. Small conversations can make a big difference. By raising awareness, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging people to seek support when they need it, we can help improve outcomes for men across our communities.

🌱Sustainability continues to be a major focus for us at Integrated Utility Services, and Great Big Green Week is a brilliant moment to recognise the progress we’re making and the colleagues driving it forward.

This year, we’ve strengthened our commitment by appointing a dedicated team of Green Champions from across the business. These volunteers are already helping shape how we reduce our environmental impact, from the way we work in our offices to the decisions we make out in the field.

Alongside this, we’re rolling out a series of new initiatives and incentives designed to support our environmental goals, whether that’s improving how we manage waste, reviewing our fleet and travel habits, or embedding more sustainable practices into our projects and day‑to‑day operations.

💚We’re proud of the momentum building across IUS and the enthusiasm of our colleagues who are helping us make meaningful, lasting change.

Last week, our teams were proud to support UNIPRES (UK) LIMITED during their May shutdown, delivering essential high voltage maintenance to help keep the site operating safely and reliably.

Across the shutdown window, our engineers completed annual maintenance and testing on 11 transformers, including 10 air‑cooled units and 1 oil‑filled unit, along with the installation of new inter-tripping circuits on one transformer.

To minimise disruption to wider site activity, the team worked late into the night, ensuring all works were completed safely and efficiently.

A huge well done to everyone involved at both UNIPRES (UK) LIMITED and Integrated Utility Services - IUS. It’s great to see the combined effort across electrical, mechanical and site services teams delivering positive improvements, from upgraded LED lighting to strengthened 11kV network resilience.
