The 2024 RYA Youth Nationals welcomed British sailing royalty Hannah Mills and Nick Dempsey to open the championships 🎉

“I’ve got amazing memories from the Youth Nationals,” said Dempsey. “The thing I remember the most is my first event – you turn up and everyone’s bigger than you, everyone’s better than you, but I loved it. I loved being that small child, the underdog.”

The two-time 470 Olympic Champion Hannah Mills and three-times Olympic windsurfing medallist Dempsey are among a host of previous British Sailing Team stars to have won the Youth Nationals and gone on to success at the highest level in the sport.

Various perpetual trophies will be handed out at the end of this week of racing – and in this Olympic Games year, we highlight some of the familiar names engraved upon them who’ve gone on to represent Team GB. Check it out 👉 http://rya.org/6sH850R8fZJ
