What a truly fantastic weekend we have just enjoyed at our Cheyenne Promotions Grand Summer Ball Country Music & Dance Weekender!
First and foremost, a huge thank you to our wonderful team who help make these weekends so special.
ā¤ļø Cheryl Carter, our much-loved Line Dance Instructor, DJ and CompĆØre, whose energy, enthusiasm and hard work are second to none.
ā¤ļø Brian & Julie Minns of JB Partner Dance, our amazing Partner Dance teachers, who continue to inspire and encourage dancers of all abilities.
ā¤ļø Maureen Lincoln, whose help behind the scenes keeps everything running so smoothly throughout the weekend.
We were delighted to welcome so many guests, including lots of new faces alongside our loyal regular attendees. Our Cheyenne Promotions family continues to grow, and it is the incredible atmosphere created by all of you that makes these weekends so special.
The entertainment throughout the weekend was simply outstanding.
š¤ Thursday evening saw us kick off in style with the ever-entertaining Tony Rouse.
š Friday's dance workshops attracted record numbers of both line and partner dancers, setting the tone for a fantastic weekend. In the evening we welcomed Ryan Payling all the way from Scotland for his first appearance with us (hopefully the first of many!) along with the brilliant L.A. Country, who kept the dance floor busy all night.
š Saturday and Sunday mornings featured two more extremely well-attended dance workshops. Saturday afternoon entertainment was provided by yours truly, Ky Rivers, followed in the evening by the ever-popular Martin Jaye. Following a late artist cancellation, we were incredibly fortunate to have the fabulous Kay D step in and help make the evening another great success.
š¤ Sunday afternoon we enjoyed a great performance from the young and talented Henry Birkett, while Sunday's grand finale featured the incredible Wayne T, another first-time performer with Cheyenne Promotions, alongside Jeff Gallant, bringing a wonderful weekend to a perfect close.
āØ One of the major talking points throughout the weekend was the stunning refurbishment of the Grand Burstin ballroom. With a massively extended dance floor and the hotel's extensive refurbishment now complete, the venue looks absolutely fabulous and was admired by everyone who attended.
Most importantly, a massive thank you to every single person who joined us this weekend. Your support means the world to us. It is your friendship, enthusiasm and love of country music and dancing that create the atmosphere Cheyenne Promotions has become known for.

Thoroughly enjoyed the gig last night at Roffey CMC! Had some fun trying to keep up with all the requestsāhope I did them justice. That was my third time playing there this year, so I must be doing something right š

After all the shenanigans from my last post, Iāve got to sayāthe gig at Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park was an absolute blast! What a venueābig capacity, fantastic stage, killer lighting, and a great dance floor. The Ents team were amazingāhuge shoutout to Charlie, Freddie, and James the Entertainment Manager, who were so helpful and made everything run smooth. They even sorted me out with overnight digs at their sister park, Chesil Beach, which was spotlessāproper immaculate. Thanks, guys!
Loved digging out all the old classics for this one. With such a wide mix of crowd, the set had to matchāeverything from a Luke Combs request to taking it way back to 1913 with āMan of Constant Sorrow.ā A 112-year-old tuneāwow, whoād have thought? Thatās older than me (just)! Thoroughly enjoyed itātop night all round.
Hey everyone, I want to apologise for my earlier post about the Bowleaze Cove gig. It was meant as a tongue-in-cheek nod to some musician mates, but on reflection, I can see it ļæ¼was a dumb attempt at humour written in haste and would have come off as disrespectful to the venue and team putting this show together. That wasnāt my intentionāIām genuinely excited to play this country-themed night and looking forward to doing some classics that I donāt have much opportunity to do these days. Sorry for the ill-worded mix-up, and thanks for understanding!
Setting off for Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park for a different kind of gig this time. Country āThemedā night - hmm am I selling out, nah, just up for a bit of a laugh. Had to learn a complete new set though, so will probably have to give them some ABH - no i donāt mean Actual Bodily Harm - much more worse - Achy Breaky Heart š. So here we go serving up as much ham, cheese and corn as I can muster, or should that be mustard! Sorry š«¤

This is a rebooking from my 31 January gig, which had to be cancelled due to COVIDābut Iām well and truly on the mend now and raring to go! Itās a fair trek from Folkestone for a one-off rescheduled show, but I remember the club well, and theyāre a great bunch, so I know itāll be worth every mile.

š¢ Apology for Gig Cancellations This Weekend
Unfortunately, Iāve had to cancel my gigs this weekend due to sickness. I thought Iād managed to dodge this nasty bug thatās been going around, but it wasnāt to be.
My sincere apologies to everyone at Lonesome Dove CMC, Redruth, Cornwall and Cool Country CMC, Yeovil, SomersetāI was really looking forward to playing for you all.
The good news is Chris Harris had kindly stepped in the cover the shows so itāll be a couple great nights.
Other good news is that Iāve already been rebooked for Lonesome Dove on 28th February, so Iāll see you then!

š£ Exciting Last-Minute Announcement! š¶
Thrilled to announce that Iāve been booked for a last-minute gig TONIGHT at Roffey CMC, held at Roffey Sports & Social Club, Spooner Road, Roffey, near Crawley, RH12 4DY.
Itās my first time playing this club and Iāve heard good things! I canāt wait to bring some modern and classic country music to the dance floor! ššŗ A great spot for line and partner dancers, so dust off those boots and come on down.
Doors open at 7:30pm, so make it a date for a night of country music and dancing fun. Hope to see you there!
