Set within one of Belfast’s most unique venues, it’s an opportunity to explore the space, meet local wedding suppliers and gather ideas for your day.

Welly boots on for yesterday’s 60th birthday celebration overlooking Strangford Lough. 🥂
Chicken Tikka, Thai Green Chicken Curry and Chickpea Korma, served with rice, fresh bread and salad, followed by chocolate cake for dessert.
A little misty rain to start, but that wasn’t going to stop us. Rain or shine, it’s hard to beat the views across Strangford Lough and the sense of calm that comes with being surrounded by open countryside.
Northern Ireland weather certainly keeps things interesting when catering outdoors!
This Corporate BBQ included sunshine, heavy showers and everything in between, but that’s one of the advantages of cooking from our Charcoal BBQ Trailer. The covered cooking area helps keep the food protected while we continue serving fresh food straight from the grill.
A little rain doesn’t stop a BBQ! 🔥

It was lovely meeting so many couples and hearing more about the Weddings you’re planning.

Our Cheesecake option is always a popular choice after our Signature BBQ. After a filling BBQ feast, it gives guests something sweet without feeling too heavy. Served with a generous dollop of fresh cream, it’s the perfect finish to a Wedding, Private Event or Corporate BBQ Catering event.

We do wedding food a little differently. 🔥 ❤️
Think Grazing tables featuring local cheeses and cured meats, Irish breads and chutneys. Charcoal BBQs cooked fresh on-site. Canapés during the Drinks Reception and Desserts served later into the evening.
Less formal. More atmosphere. Food that feels part of the day rather than an afterthought.

The BBQ trailer was out in the sunshine alongside some traybakes and plenty of chats with couples planning their weddings.
Lovely to meet everyone who stopped by. We’ll be getting menus and information sent out over the next few days to everyone who requested them. ❤️

Guests were welcomed with an Artisan Grazing Table during the afternoon drinks reception with Irish breads, local cheeses, chutneys and cured meats before our Signature BBQ was served later that evening.
Evening bacon rolls to finish the night always go down well too.

We’re sorry to miss this year’s Open Day at Breckenhill. It’s one of our favourite wedding events of the year.
Always a lovely atmosphere and such a great group of local suppliers involved each year.
If you’re engaged and looking for a unique countryside wedding venue with a relaxed atmosphere, it’s well worth a visit on Sunday. ❤️
We’re so excited for our Wedding Open Day this coming Sunday!
We have some amazing vendors coming along to be part of the day, and can chat all things wedding with you!
We have our amazing partners Spitting Pig Northern Ireland, Brook Avenue (so there’s your meal sorted!) Cakes by Suzanne (with yummy samples!), the brilliant Northern Ireland Wedding Cars, and B'Jewelled Bridal for your jewellery needs. On the music front we have 𝙰𝚂 𝚆𝙴𝙳𝙳𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 (Anna has a fantastic voice!) and Jazzy G’s Northern Soul Sax will be in the Green Barn with some great tunes. Our regular friends Jervis Wedding Photography will be back, and Glenn from GL Media can chat about videography.
For room decor and flowers we have Sharon from Innocent Chaos (our new neighbour!) and the lovely Matt from Bloom Barn who is a wonderfully talented florist. There will also be some lovely table settings by Esina Studio though sadly they can’t attend in person. We have Lorraine from Northern Ireland Humanists to discuss the ceremony.
We are so looking forward to having a live model bride! Wearing a fabulous dress from Jill Jones Bridal, hair will be done by Karma Hair Design and makeup by Jenni from Muse in Ballyclare. Come and see the process and how it comes together!
Finally, a little sprinkle of magic - see if you can spot the magicians! GO Magic will be somewhere around….

Breckenhill is set in the Co. Antrim countryside near Ballyclare, Breckenhill is one of Northern Ireland’s best known rustic wedding venues, with restored stone barns, woodland walks, gardens and views across the surrounding hills. What makes it stand out is the flexibility of the space and the relaxed atmosphere it creates for couples who want something a little less formal.
