I spent the last couple of days chasing the clear sky around the country so that I could shoot the Geminid Meteor Shower. This year it was particularly spectacular due to minimal interference from the moon and I must have seen hundreds of meteors over the 2 peak night. Here is my YouTube video of the highlights!

The northern lights over Devon this evening 😍 This is the 4th time I have captured them in Devon this year and there should be plenty more opportunities to capture with the solar maximum coming up in the next year or so!

I had an absolutely stunning morning on Dartmoor this morning 😍 I was on the moor just after sunrise and was hoping to catch some Autumn colours in the forest. It didn't disappoint and the early morning lights with the mist rolling in and out was stunning!

I managed to capture the northern lights from Devon this evening 😍 There was a lot of cloud around but I managed to get a weather window. The reds colours were nearly overhead and I were just visible to the naked eye at times.

I have been waiting to try this shot for such a long time! I had to wait until the right time of year for the river valley to line up just right with the night sky and last night I finally got the shot 😍 This is the milky way over the River Dart deep into Dartmoor National Park, Devon. This is one of my favourite places on the moor and it was even more special to visit it at night with the bats and owls fluttering about 👌

I got some good footage of the Perseid Meteor Shower on Friday night in Devon. It was our only clear night around the peak and I saw at least 80 meteors 😍full video is on YouTube below

A misty morning in the Caledonian Pine Forest in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland 😍 This was a truly magical morning and mist was swirling around the trees, across the lakes and off the mountains. Very glad I got up early to capture this 👌

The Summer Milky Way over an Iconic Devon Waterfall 😍 This is such an incredible place to shoot the night sky. With limited light pollution you can see thousands of stars and the sound of the waterfall is sooooo soothing 👌

These will be my final 2 Images from the one of most amazing nights of photography I have ever had. The northern lights filled the entire northern sky and the only way to represent this was to put them together in 2 Panoramas 😍 I will never forget that night and what an experience it was. Still can't believe I took these images in Devon and not in the Arctic circle!

I am still humbled by what I saw last night! Never thought I'd capture the Northern Lights this strongly in South Devon 😍 I could see all the beams and colours to the naked eye and it was the best display of the northern lights I've seen and I've been to Iceland 😂 An unforgettable experience

Did you know Britain has Rainforests? Yes in the wettest, westernmost regions of the British Isles, we have Temperate Rainforests. These forests are now reduced to isolated fragments but used to much more extensive. Nearly every available surface including trees, rocks and the ground is covered in either moss, ferns and other wet loving plants. These rainforests are one of our most precious habitats and we have to protect and expand them! These shots were all taken in Devon, a particular hotspot for Temperate Rainforests but they also found in Cornwall, Western Scotland, Western Wales and Ireland.

A frosty sunrise on an Iron Age Hill Fort In Devon. Cadbury Castle is sat on top of a hill 250m above sea level about 20 minutes from Exeter. It was later encamped by the Parliamentarian forces during the English Civil War under Thomas Fairfax when he laid siege to Bickleigh Castle. The remaining earthworks and ramparts are quite impressive and it's well worth a hike.
