day 18: mushrooms 🍄

The 7yo and I went to a fab workshop with Willerby Manor Mushrooms at Happy River Retreat. We got to create a mushroom growing kit to bring home, I tried mushroom coffee, and she created with clay (they were making clay mushrooms but obviously she went her own way with it). What a fabulous place and lovely people. Love the fox-and-cubs flowers growing in the woodland too.

As part of or new series of events, we are SO excited to announce that we will be hosting the amazing of here at Happy River Retreat for two incredibly special workshops not to be missed!

Her first workshop is on SATURDAY AUGUST 20th 2022 from 9.30-4.30pm and will be a rich, enlightening day of learning about, preparing and feasting on the abundance local and seasonal summer produce 🌱designed to be nutrient dense and majoring on living foods that not only maximise your health but also demonstrate how the food choices we make can support the wider delicate ecosystem of this planet that supports us.🌎

The Yurt at Happy River is a magical space. There is something about being in a circular structure that brings people together in a special way ✨

Built from scratch, from a fallen tree collected by us, this was a real labour of love, each pole cut and steam bent on site and pieced together. It’s recently enjoyed a new roof canvas and a spruce up after the winter storms too 😊

We have lots of lovely things planned in here from early June onwards when the inside will be ready to welcome guests and practioners.
