๐ฐโ A Taste of The Savoy Comes to Collingtree Park ๐ฐโ
A little piece of The Savoyโs iconic afternoon tea came to Collingtree Park Care Home in Northampton recently, all in honour of two lovely residents, Betty and Jean.
At Christmas, both ladies made a wish for afternoon tea at The Savoy. Determined to make it happen, Martin, Activities Coordinator at the home, reached out to The Savoy Hotel in London to see if they might be able to help.
To everyoneโs delight, the Manager of The Gallery at The Savoy, responded with generosity and enthusiasm. She arranged for a beautiful hamper to be sent to the home, including exclusive Wedgwood China, loose leaf tea, miniature preserves and even a recipe for the famous Savoy scones โ allowing the home to recreate the experience.
Betty and Jean were over the moon. A big thank you to all involved in making this a truly special afternoon to remember. ๐

๐ RoSPA Fall Prevention Trophy ๐
Weโre celebrating yet another health and safety triumph after being named winner of the prestigious RoSPA Fall Prevention Trophy for our world-leading track record in minimising falls in our 265 care homes and hospitals.
As part of the rigorous evidence-based entry criteria, a team from RoSPA interviewed a number of our residents about their experiences living in Barchester homes. Heather, a resident from Waterside Court Care Home in , commented: โMy husband lives with Parkinsonโs disease and was falling frequently in our family home. Since we moved into Waterside Court over a year ago, he has not had a single fall. We are delighted with the care and support he receives here.โ
Pete Calveley, our CEO, said: โHealth and safety is without doubt the most important component of our care. I am exceptionally proud of the unstinting effort of every single team member in our homes to keep our residents and patients safe and reduce the risk of any falls to an absolute minimum. The work that Barchester has put into falls prevention is evident in our exemplary track record so it is wonderful to be recognised as the leader across our entire industry in this incredibly important field.โ
