For anyone having a tough day or week, or feels they can’t be strong, or that it’s a never ending spiral of s**t sometimes, this is for you!

When I was this little girl I had no idea what was ahead of me.

This little feisty girl didn’t know about the battles she would face, the heartbreak she would endure, or the moments she would wonder if she was strong enough to keep going.

But if I could sit beside her today, I wouldn’t tell her to be afraid. I wouldn’t tell her all the things that would go wrong.

I’d tell her this:

“You are stronger than you know. You are brave, resilient, and capable of getting through things that seem impossible right now. There will be days when you feel broken, but you will rebuild. There will be times when you feel lost, but you will find your way. Keep going. Keep believing in yourself. One day, you’ll look back and realise just how tough you really are.”

Sometimes healing is learning to speak to ourselves with the kindness, encouragement, and belief that we all deserved as children.
You can give yourself the love and kindness you need or want.

So today, instead of criticising that little girl inside you, remind her how far she’s come. ❤️

Ps this girl fought through abusive relationships, homelessness, grief, single parenthood, bullying in childhood and adulthood and she still came out running a charity to help other women to change their lives!!

F*%k your haters, you do you!! This is to show you anything is possible, so be kind to your inner child ladies tell her you’ve got this!!

Phoenix Rising Team had amazing time at Torbay Pride 2026 this year, we spoke to some amazing people, supported those that needed it and made some great connections. We loved all our visitors to the stand. Thank you to Steve Darling MP for popping to see us and having a picture :-)
We had the best time.
So very proud of our team, women with lived experience, using their past experiences to help and support others.
So selfless and just amazing to see.

Trigger warning!!!

We often share the ups and down in society around domestic and sexual abuse on our page, but today however we are going to celebrate a win for one of our ladies, it's another win for women but it's also a win for this incredibly strong survivor who was r***d by her partner. This lady wants us to share this on our page to show other women that coming forward and standing strong is possible.

She has finally got the justice she so deserves, he's been found guilty and is due for sentencing..

The road to this justice, however hasn't been easy, 5 years of waiting, 3 trial dates, 5 different ISVA's and 3 different Solo's isn't ideal and we have to make changes to the system somewhere, as this system is broken. But persevering with it and staying strong in your truth is what it takes.

Here is a little note from the survivor, we are so proud of you :-)

"Hey Claire, I just wanted to share some news with you. Last week my case against my ex finally made it to court. He was found guilty and is due for sentencing.
I went to so many groups, and counsellors and none of them got through to me like you did. None of them made me forgive myself or understand that this wasn't my fault. Without you, I would not have got to this point and I honestly cannot thank you enough x"
