Finished another one in this textured flower series.

This one has stronger purples and teals running through it, along with bits of silver leaf that catch the light as you move around it. I've used handmade clay flowers again, which add quite a bit of depth and texture to the surface.

Like the others in this series, it's been quite difficult to photograph properly. The colours and metallic details look quite different depending on the light, so I’ll probably try posting a video.

Latest one in this textured floral series.

This one’s a bit larger than the others and painted on a deep-edged canvas, with a softer cream background rather than white and warm yellow flowers running through it. I’ve used handmade clay elements again for some of the flower heads, along with gold leaf that catches the light when you move around it.

All of these paintings have been really tricky to photograph properly if I’m honest - they definitely look much more effective in real life, especially when the texture and metallic details catch the light naturally.

Second one in this series - this one’s based around lavender tones and soft whites, with loads of texture built up across the surface. I’ve also used little handmade clay flower heads again, as I did in Poppy Field, which gives it a bit more depth when the light catches it.

A lot of the paint is iridescent too, so it changes quite a bit depending on the time of day and where the light’s hitting it from - quite hard to photograph properly if I’m honest.

Really enjoying working on these at the moment because they’re a bit different from my usual portraits and darker work. Hope you like it, there will be a few more like these to come.

Just finished this one, it’s a heavily textured wildflower painting featuring vibrant red poppies and touches of purple cornflower. Some of the poppies are hand-shaped from clay, which gives the surface a bit more depth when the light catches it.

It’s painted on a 51cm x 51cm canvas with a simple white border framing the textured centre.

I think this will be the first in a series, with different colour themes and different shaped canvases.
