Beautiful Hayley wearing Jesus Peiro 166 to marry Ian at an intimate, romantic wedding in Tuscany last year 💛

Hayley's dress was a brilliant example of how you can tailor an existing dress and really make it your own. Starting with Jesus Peiro style 166, Hayley chose to have it made in a stunning dotty taffeta fabric, adjusting the hemline for a 1950's feel. A former ballet dancer, Hayley accessorised with the most beautiful Swan Lake inspired feather headpiece, lovingly made by her mum.

Last week myself, photographer CecelinaPhotography and wedding planner Weddings By Emily Charlotte met on a zoom chat, joined by brides and couples to discuss and ask questions about the future of weddings in 2020/ 2021. Both Emily and Cecelina have had to postpone their own weddings, so it was great to chat about their experiences and how they have found postponing their wedding.

Now if you missed it - fear not as here is the recording for you to enjoy, over a glass of wine perhaps, thats what we did🍷

We loved doing this so much, and had some lovely feedback from those who joined that we are going to be doing them more frequently.

So if you are interested in joining us (you won't be on camera, and can just watch or ask questions) then our next chat will be about how to make your wedding exceptional experience for your guests and family. This will be on Wednesday 24th June at 7.30pm GMT if you would like to sign up then here is the link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/how-to-make-your-wedding-an-expectional-experience-for-your-guests-tickets-108864179692

Emily, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for being so great during our wedding – we absolutely loved it, and couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you for being so so easy to work with, for never getting cross with our late replies and for always enacting our vision perfectly. Our tiramisu wedding cake was unbelievable so thank you for convincing the pasticceria to make it!

The villa was incredible, the views were amazing and the whole day felt perfectly planned. Annie, our celebrant, was the perfect choice, as were the florist Monica and photographers Andrea & Federica. Thank you for convincing us to get a professional photographer! You were 100% right.

On a more personal note, we really appreciate that you were on board with having two brides, and that you never put us in any awkward situations with suppliers. Not sure if you pre-vetted, but we felt very accepted by everyone involved in the wedding, which made the whole process much easier and enjoyable.

Just so you know, we’re recommending you to everyone! Thank you for making our Italian wedding/Tuscan villa dream come true!

Beth & Emily
There is something incredibly special about a small celebration focused on not just the love between two people, but the love they have for their very nearest and dearest.

❤️ We FINALLY did it! ❤️

I am back having quite literally had the best week of my life. I’m sad that it’s over but SO grateful that it was able to happen.

We had the most magical few days with family and friends, time that we will cherish forever and, even several days later, I’m still trying to put into words what it meant to us.

To my couples who have postponed perhaps once, twice or maybe even more…

Firstly, I’m so sorry you’ve not yet had your day. It’s really not fair that some of us are able to and some of us aren’t just yet.

Secondly, and most importantly, please take comfort in knowing that when you do eventually get there it will be SO WORTH THE WAIT. Trust in your decision to get married abroad and stick with your plans for your dream wedding. We questioned ourselves at times, and whether continuing with our wedding in Spain was the right thing to do, it was causing so much stress and worry but now that we’ve done it, it 100% was right for us. It was just the best!

I have so much I could say about it all, and I can’t wait to share more with you; I had so many lovely messages from industry friends, colleagues and couples past and present. You’ve all been with me throughout the planning so it seems only right to share it all the way to the aisle.

We have already had some amazing sneak peaks and I cannot wait to receive & share more, and re-live this very special time.

There are so many people we need to thank, every single one of our suppliers was a huge part of our day and we can’t sing your praises enough!

A quick shout out to you all - Optimum Weddings by Dyana Dessar CecelinaPhotography Reece Iveson Videography Unique by Roberto Silvosa Nicola McGeorge Makeup Artist Alex Bridal - Malaga Minister -Independent Wedding Celebrant Pingle Pie Chemical Mambo Finca Monasterio (and everyone whose FB handles I don’t have!)

For now, I have loads to catch up on so will climb down from Cloud 9 (just for a moment) to get on with it, but expect to see a LOT more wedding spam and I’m not even sorry about it!

Lots of love, Mrs Webber ❤️

// SHOULDA, WOULDA, WISH WE COULDA //

Today should have been our (postponed) wedding day. Reaching this day (again) brings up all the emotions. It's a funny feeling.

When we made the decision last May to postpone from August 2020 to June 2021, like so many couples I can honestly say it didn't cross our mind for one second that we would still be in such uncertain times but here we are!

It's so sad to think all our family and friends should have been chilling out here, enjoying the sunshine and waiting for the celebrations to begin.

Our new date (third time lucky) isn't quite going to plan either as it's gutting how many close family and friends still won't be able to make it, but at this point we're just putting all our hopes, and our hearts, into finally getting married this August...please keep everything crossed for us, and of course all the other couples that hope their celebrations can happen at long last...we need all the luck we can get!

A special shout out to my couple L&C who also should have been marrying in Italy today. Sigh.

// WALKING OUT OF 2020 //⠀
⠀
With a huge smile like this on my face....let me tell you why.⠀
⠀
1) I'm now out of office for the Christmas break, that's a nice feeling at the best of times, but it's finally time to wrap up what can only be described as the year from hell...I think we are all ready for 2021, things can only get better, right?⠀
⠀
2) I am once again finishing a year feeling so happy that I have AMAZING clients. I'm grateful for you all every year, but for obvious reasons 2020 has been really very hard, professionally and personally. You have all helped to make it that little bit easier, taken difficult conversations in your stride and supported my business through it's most challenging time to date...thank you. ⠀
⠀
3) I work in the best industry. I've loved working in weddings since I started, but 2020 has only emphasised what a community it is. Let's not sugar coat it, it's been a truly s**t time for us all, but my venues, suppliers and general industry colleagues and friends have gone above and beyond. Not just in supporting their couples, but in supporting one another, so thank you to all of you as well.⠀
⠀
4) I'm more resilient than I was at the start of this year. When this season started the thought of postponing or cancelling just one wedding would have been hard enough. I never thought I'd be postponing or cancelling all but one, and at the same time, but I did, and guess what? I'm still here! Whilst I don't wish to be in this situation again, I now know that I can handle the unpredictable. ⠀
⠀
At this stage, who knows what 2021 has to throw at us. I am both hopeful and optimistic, and know that any weddings that take place are going to be SO worth the wait. ⠀
⠀
I will be back in the office on Monday 4th January and look forward to taking on everything the year has to offer.⠀
⠀
Until then, have a very lovely (if not slightly different) Christmas, and let's hope for a Happy New Year!
⠀
Lots of Love ###⠀

// BRIDAL PARTY CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE //

Christmas shopping season is literally one of my favourite times of the year...even selecting which wrapping paper I’m going to buy each festive season excites me.

So, not needing any excuse I’ve put together a Bridal Party Christmas Gift Guide...ideas and inspiration for your closest family and friends, from the bride and groom themselves to mothers and fathers and everything in between.

My heart is bursting ❤️

There is so much to say about this I’m not sure where to start.

I’ll begin with the first thing that strikes me when looking at these photos...how absolutely bloody amazing do H&I look?! H was THE most radiant, elegant bride, who quite literally could have stepped off a Dior cover. That second photo! 😍

Cupid struck these two early and after 15 years together (yes they were basically babies when they met) they were finally getting married. Nothing, not even a global pandemic, was going to stop them!

Swooning aside this wedding was EVERYTHING. Ironically it was going to be my last of the season, but ended up being my first and only. I cannot express what it meant to have a wedding again.

I had missed it ALL...The prep, even lugging chairs up several stairs, setting up in 27 degrees and quickly moving from A to B, and back again until your legs feel like you’ve run a marathon.

The ceremony, especially the moment the bride enters and her groom sees her for the first time, the emotions and sharing of sentiments as touching moments are read out.

The reception, filled with laughter and love between friends and family whom the couple hold dearest. The clinks of glasses throughout speeches and the first dance kick starting the party before I sit back and watch the dance floor fill with a feeling of pride and love for my days work.

It was AMAZING to experience all of this again.

At the end of the evening, from the side of the dance floor, watching her guests have the best time, H thanked me for everything. I thanked her right back and couldn’t have meant it more. H&I, thank you. Thank you for having me be a part of your day, for your perseverance, and for being my only remaining wedding this year. I needed it. I needed to be reminded how much I love my job, and why I do it even when times are tough.

Puglia Travel Tips — Your Wedding Planner & Coordinator

Following my trip to Puglia last week I've written a blog sharing my recommendations if you're planning a trip to the region 🤍
⠀
Before we visited we found the area to be pretty tricky to navigate, there are multiple, enchanting towns all of which have something to offer, a choice of beaches and numerous restaurants all filled with delicious, local food so making any decisions can be hard. ⠀
⠀
This blog post is based solely on my experience over the last week and focused only on the areas we visited, but I hope it's useful for anyone planning a last minute getaway to beautiful Puglia.⠀

weddingsbyemilycharlotte.co.uk I’ve just returned from a glorious week in Puglia with my partner Alex, and two of our friends. I have to be honest, Puglia was not our first choice of holiday destination. We were supposed to spend last week in Spain celebrating our wedding, but of course Covid-19 got in the way. The Post Postponement Feels — Your Wedding Planner & Coordinator

// WE TOOK THE PLUNGE//

Last week we took the plunge and decided, like so many other 2020 couples, to postpone our wedding to 2021.

First, I should say, there were SO many factors that contributed to this decision, so if you're a 2020 couple and still undecided about what to do, just because I've postponed my wedding, doesn't instantly mean you should postpone yours...you'll know if and when you need to make this call.

Both Alex and I still have mixed emotions about this, we know it feels right for us at this time, and we now feel excited about our wedding again, but at the same time we're kinda mourning the plans we had for this summer.

Head over to the website for my latest blog, on all the post, postponement feels....

weddingsbyemilycharlotte.co.uk As a wedding planner that has now postponed several client weddings, and as a bride who has just postponed their own wedding, I've shared my thoughts on how it feels to make that postponement decision, for any couples out there that may still need to do just that.

// HOLD THAT HEAD HIGH GIRL //⠀
⠀
I know a lot of people were holding out for yesterday’s UK announcement, hoping it would bring some certainty.

For me, 2020 was set to be my favourite year yet...some amazing weddings lined up, as well as our own in August (🤷🏼‍♀️) unfortunately things haven’t quite panned out as we all expected, and it looks as though we’re still a little way off getting there too.
⠀
I look back at the Instagram posts I did at the beginning of the year, so excited for what was to come...blissfully unaware of what was actually to come!
⠀
I’d be lying if it didn’t make me sad to think of the lost opportunities we've had in 2020, BUT I'm going to keep holding that head high, knowing that life will be 'normal' again one day and when it is, we'll appreciate it all the more! ❤️

If recent announcements have meant you do now have to postpone your wedding, I know just how sad you’ll feel, but stay positive and know that you will get to celebrate as you planned in the not too distant future, and I promise it will be worth the wait ❤️
