Petition to Save Faversham Cottage Hospital (Photo credit: Kent Online) I’ve just had the shocking news that Faversham Cottage Hospital is to close on Friday 4 July.

“Reform UK will unleash housebuilding across the country.”

This is a quote from their own ‘contract' with the people.

Reform UK proposes a "loose fit" planning policy aimed at simplifying the approval process for large residential developments. This approach involves establishing pre-approved guidelines and developer requirements, thereby reducing ‘bureaucratic' hurdles and expediting the planning process. In other words, large schemes will be not subject to the same level of local scrutiny and consultation as they are at present.

Reform also say they will speed up and simplify the planning process, so planning permission can be gained at a much quicker pace. They will get more houses on the market quicker.

Reform will also “review developer contribution obligations, which will cut the cost of building houses and make them more affordable.” So not only would communities have all these extra houses imposed on them, they won’t get the infrastructure needed to support them.

The message is clear. If you believe it should not be made easier for developers to destroy our countryside, do NOT vote Reform at the KCC elections on Thursday.

If you want a local councillor who is committed to campaigning against excessive housebuilding, vote Julien SPEED in Swale East on Thursday.
