📣 This week's is a 1962 slammed VW Splitscreen owned by Mitch 🤙

“I remember the day I first saw the bus, I was out for a cruise in my brothers 73 bug, ( I had my mk4 r32 for sale at the time) , I received a Facebook message from a guy wanting a swap deal for the r32, after many people wanting swaps for their 02 plate Corsa I was a bit sceptical. However, I was shocked and immediately listed all my old cars and parts for sale in a desperate attempt to raise the funds towards the swap.

The day I picked it up on the trailer it was in a sorry state with the roof and gutters rotten and some patching needed in various places, the thoughts soon arose to slam it on hydraulics and within 3 months we had home made a full hydraulic suspension kit out of an old tipper motor and some short rams, it drove awful (due to bad setup) , however I still sent it around the country last year to Cornwall, Manchester and many other shows.

Toward the back end of last year and into 2022 , my Father, Brother and I have ripped out all the hydraulic set up and completely re designed the mounts to take air lift bags and an airlift 3p management system.

It’s sat on some one of a kind 3 piece split rims , built by the wonderful Nick Holroyd at NH automotive , Nick has been a great help with the sizing of the wheels and being patient with me when I didn’t even know if they would fit. I have also been lucky enough to be sponsored by @stjarnagloss last year, Jack at stjarna is a great guy and I appreciate him taking on such a unfinished project , hopefully it’ll fulfil all the wild plans I’ve bored him with this year now that it’s 99% done.”

📣 This week's comes from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ! Today we have a Volkswagen Apline White Golf Mk2, owned by Koen van Haren 🤙

“The car hobby began when I was about 13 years old, helping my dad with his Ford Mustang Mach 1 from 1973. It was a total restoration project back to factory stock. When I was old enough to get my own car I got a Volkswagen Golf MK4 TDI, did a total respray on that, 18 inch wheels, coilovers and much more updates. Eventually selling it in 2019, and then I bought the MK2.

When I bought the MK2 it was a totally original Volkswagen Golf mk2 1.6 8v Manhattan from 1989. First things I did was coilovers, hoodscoop and wheels. After a while I dipped the car since I wanted to change the color temporarily, then I was thinking about getting the engine swapped, that’s when I meet my best friend. He helped me swap the Mk2 with a Golf Mk3 2.0 8v engine, since then I did the brake update, swapped the seats with recaro gti-editions from a Mk3 and restored a set of BBS RS772.

After all this, I decided the Mk2 is going for a different look, and did the welding, bodywork and painting the car, this project recently completed, fitted G60 bumpers, with arches and skirts, powered windows, central locking, votex spoiler, reupholstered the doorcards with suède, fitted a windshield with blue sun strip, and added a powerrohr intake pipe to the engine. I also just got a GTI Cluster with working MFA.

At the moment I am rebuilding a GTI rear axle and swap the GTI front brakes for G60 front brakes, since I thought this would be a nice winter project, updates about this is coming soon on my Instagram page.

As the summer is coming, I am thinking about enjoying the Mk2! Attending meets, do lots of photo shoots and enjoy with friends and family. For the future, the engine bay needs a good paint job, as does the engine. Also looking for electric side mirrors, cruise control, votex mid console, and powered headlight levelers. Lots to do!”

Hallo, mein Name ist Christopher und ich bin 18 Jahre alt. Das ist mein Volkswagen Corrado VR6, Baujahr 1993 und hat ca. 230.000km auf der Uhr. Gekauft habe ich ihn am 13.02.2021. Der Corrado ist nicht mehr im Originalzustand da Er umgebaut worden ist. Umgebaut wurde Folgendes:

- Kühlergrill mit bösem Blick, Gewindefahrwerk von Koni, S2 Edition Felgen mit Spurplatten, Sportauspuffanlage, Sportlenkrad, Radkästen wurden verbreitert, Heckklappe wurde gecleant, Kennzeichen wurde in die Stoßstange versetzt

Ich habe mich für einen Volkswagen Oldtimer entschieden, da meine Eltern schon Volkswagen gefahren sind. Z. B. Golf 2 GTI, Golf 3 VR6... Ich bin sozusagen mit Volkswagen groß geworden und für mich kam nichts anderes infrage.

🌏 This week's comes from the beautiful Erzgebirge in Germany! Today we have a Volkswagen Corrado VR6, owned by Christopher 🤙

Hello, my name is Christopher, I am 18 years old and this is my Volkswagen Corrado VR6, built in 1993. It has about 230,000km on the clock. I bought it on 13.02.2021.
The Corrado is no longer in its original condition because it has been rebuilt. The following was rebuilt:

- Radiator grille with evil eye, Koni coilover suspension, S2 Edition rims with track plates, sport exhaust system, sports steering wheel, wheel arches widened, tailgate cleared and the number plate was moved into the bumper.

I decided to buy a Volkswagen classic car because my parents already drove Volkswagens. E.g. Golf 2 GTI, Golf 3 VR6... I grew up with Volkswagens, so to speak, and nothing else came into question for me.

📣 This week's is a 1985 Volkswagen T25 affectionately named ‘Kathy’ , owned by Abii 🌸 🤙

“I never had a background with VW’s but always dreamt of living the free hippie lifestyle everyone talks about with VW campers. Somehow along the way when I was very young, a Volkswagen T25 became my dream vehicle (I’d never even seen one in real life).

I planned out what the perfect specifications were for me and had no intentions to buy until I had a bigger budget. However, I got my van in Skegness after seeing an advert on Facebook marketplace about 6 months earlier than intended. I jumped at the opportunity and rushed to see it before anyone else as it met every single one of the criteria I had, and I took it home the next day!

Since then, I’ve changed the alloys it came with for the classic steels with hubcaps, swapped the chunky black chairs for botanical print to match my theme, changed the flooring and given the van a respray (by myself!) from blue to pink. I plan on getting her all mechanically sound in whatever ways are needed this spring before my summer road trip and am in the middle of updating the interior too! As far as future plans go, knowing these vans she’ll definitely have a few in mind too!"
