And that’s a wrap - Friday night celebrating 9 years of La Rumba across Electric Studios & Sidney & Matilda 🥳

Friday evening saw the don’ Nightmares on Wax with our bros DUB SHACK perform on an impeccable sound system Sinai Sound System - a dream booking for us and Dub Shack 🔊

Followed by a stellar after party with Coco María, Mafalda, Florentino, Me Gusta Collective and our various friends soundtracking the rest of the venue tttt3 Jodie Alex Pickavant flock Ashley Grimshaw Chris Welch

We always knew this one was a risk in today’s climate, the time of year, with a big budget show rolling into an underground afterparty with rarer selectors - but it was truly one of our favourite, most authentically designed shows we’ve put together.

A huge thank you to everyone that joined us, and the many more that came before this one ❤️

Announcing our support lineup for room three at Sidney & Matilda next Friday!

We’re always gassed when it comes to picking our favourite local artists and friends to build out our lineups and broaden out the musical spectrum of each show.

alex.aubyn & Jodie Tyler are two of our favourite guests to bring back time and again and have become namestays on the Sheffield scene in recent years 🎉

We’re shipping up Dom Carlo from Bristol off the back of a hugely successful string of releases on underground labels: Amity, Elicit Records, and Obligated Records, he continues to push the sounds of the UK underground with his precision in sound design and dedication to forward-thinking system-ready music 👽

The Flock crew and their no-BS stripped back house parties have been one of our favourite things to watch grow in Sheffield over the years 🪩

And to top it off, we’re inviting Dan G x Fortythree down to go b2b who have supported La Rumba since near enough day one 🤜 🤛

Doors for this one open at 23:00 and this crew will be sound-tracking the bar throughout the night.

Where it started vs. where it’s headed…

9 days to go until we celebrate 9 years of La Rumba across two venues with one of our boldest lineups & concepts, split across Electric Studios in the evening and Sidney & Matilda for the after party.

Never did I think as a 20-year old student that I’d be booking the likes of Nightmares on Wax, Gilles Peterson, Mala, Midland and more across just about every grassroots venue in Sheffield, let alone carrying this rollercoaster on 9 years later alongside a full time job.

Swipe for some select moments over the years, will you be joining us on 12th June ?

10 days to go! Crate‑digging magic from London to Porto 🌞

Mafalda is a London-based, Portuguese DJ and crate-digger known for her joyful, eclectic sets that blend jazz, soul, gospel, and Brazilian rarities. She co-runs the esteemed reissue label Melodies International and hosts the monthly Tropic of Love radio show on NTS Radio.

Raised in Porto, Portugal, she moved to London in 2014 after being mesmerized by DJs playing spiritual jazz in clubs.

Melodies International: She quickly embedded herself in the London record community and partnered with Sam Shepard (Floating Points) to run Melodies International and its associated party, You’re A Melody.

Mafalda’s Ethos: Her DJing motto is simple: “only play the records you really, really love.”

We’re blessed to have her play an extended 4 hour set b2b with Coco María next Friday 12th June at Sidney & Matilda 🧡
