Trip down to to lift with Ronin team.

Hit what I think is a new PB double on the sn**ch, I can’t remember doing more for a double.

Good stuff on a Saturday afternoon.

Good exercise to help find rotation through the spine.

I must admit when you perform the 50-100 reps recommended for this you do get the burn in the abs.

I really like the controlled variation over the dynamic one, I find it helps me actually feel the obliques work instead of just using the movement to find rotation.

The bench between the legs and squeezing is a small detail but, one that’s makes a big difference .

This helps keeps the hips fixed in place so you focus more on rotation through spine and don’t just cheat by moving the hips.

Finding the right cue can help change the lift entirely.

Up until the last 2 weeks my cleans have been feeling a little off mainly because I didn’t know where to place the effort or what to cue.

I discussed this with and he gave me some new cues and things to focus on while lifting, which have been a game changer.

The pull of the clean has been feeling crisp and strong ever since.

Finding the correct cue can help make the lift better without actually having to change much.

Sort of a good lesson in seeking advice from others as when you’re feeling a little loss, as an outside mind can offer new information.

Love a good FAFO warm up when I’m in the mood to play and need something in between the warm up and main session.

Helps me switch on before a training session if my minds not really in it.

Today I set a timer for 10 minutes and practiced some handstand walks, one mat length at a time 3 attempts max before resting.

I haven’t done these in a while so we’re not the best but, it was fun.

We can this another go in a later session and hopefully improve.

This can be applied to a lot of different movements pick something relatively easy and build up intensity or difficult over that timer as you get warm.

You could do 3 minutes hand stand kicks ups then the rest of the time walks for example.
