This is Chilli, the male Red Eared Slider that was found crossing a road and clearly been in the "wild" for awhile after being dumped be his previous owners. He has been quarantined and cleaned off with a small course of antibiotics.

This is him tonight in his new home, it looks like this is deepest sleep he's had in a LONG TIME. In clean, temperature controlled water. Not having to fight to stay warm or survive !!! He can now finally thrive and be spoilt with the rest of the rescue and live a carefree life.

This is exactly why we do this, to ensure these animals get the best care 💙

This little male Red Eared Slider, invasive to the UK is the first of summer after being spotted trying to cross a road. The state and tanning on his shell points to a wild pond rather than a well kept outdoor enclosure so has left us to believe he has been dumped as an unwanted pet. He has a few injury points that show skin damage done by leeches. He was very lucky someone spotted him and bought him to us, he could of burned his shell on the hot tarmac of the road or even worse still hit by a passing car.

We stress that these animals may "adapt" to outdoor living but not in the wild. They are classed as invasive for a reason. Please look for other alternatives and dont reduce your belived pet to a life of survival and possibly meeting a cruel death. No pet should feel the pain of being left alone in somewhere strange.

He is called Chilly because he was found on a hot day 🤣🤣 xx

Bruce our common snapping turtle will forever be our water puppy !!! Just look at that face, his markings are also beautiful for a species that favours more brownish variations.

Taco our only Meso-American Slider enjoys it when the filter has been cleaned and the force of water is greater :). I wonder if it acts as small head massage for her !
