Outreach Opera

Thank you to everyone who came down to St Mary’s Church yesterday afternoon for our recital. Such a warm and appreciative audience to sing for. We loved having a chat and a brew (and Georgina’s cake 🍰!) afterwards as well. We are definitely going to make this a regular occasion.

Thank you to Chris Ellis for his absolutely sublime playing. We’re so lucky to work with such a talented musician. To Andrew for recording and filming us, to the church for hosting us and allowing us to sing in such a stunning place, and to Charlotte and Alison for helping with selling the tickets and making the brews afterwards.

We will see you all again in August and September for our Last Night of the Proms concerts with our great friends at Bolton Hoover Band 🎺 🥁.

A week tomorrow!!!

A one hour recital brought to you by yours truly. Come and indulge in some song from the German Lieder and French Melodie repertoire. A lot of preparation has gone into this little gem of a concert and we would love to have your support. Tickets are £10. Kids go free. It’ll be over by 5:30pm - in time for your tea or an evening out with the family. Refreshments available!

Today we ventured over the border into North Yorkshire to the home of our composer , to listen to Act I of our Pendle Witch opera. A very exciting moment in our journey. We are in the throes of applying for funding for our R&D where we will fully stage and perform two scenes from our opera. We need £30,000 for this part of the project. If you’re interested in investing or know anyone who might want to support us please get in touch!

We’ve had a great day meeting in the East side today!

It’s Tuesday. And that means one thing. Meeting day! Tuesdays are our dedicated OO days to meet and plan! Now we’re living on oppostie sides of Lancashire we take it in turns to travel to the East or West side of the county. Today was the East side’s turn in Pendle!

We are in the thick of our funding application to for our R&D for our opera as well as organising school projects for the year AND more excitingly, another LNOP to add to the THREE we have in the diary. We’re so lucky we get to do all this together as friends (although sometimes we can get very distracted with supping brews and chin wagging 🙊) Our upcoming recital date will be released soon with details of how to get your tickets!
