This week we didn’t look away.

We talked about the fact that su***de is still the biggest killer of men under 35 in the UK.

We talked about burnout, about stress, about workplaces that still haven’t made it safe to speak up.

Now it’s time to do something with it.

Three things. Today. Pick one.

📞 Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Not a text. A call. Ask how they really are — and wait for the real answer.
🙋 If you’re the one who’s struggling — tell someone. A mate, a GP, a colleague. You don’t have to be in crisis. You just have to be honest.

Men’s Health Week ends today. But the conversation doesn’t have to.

One message. One call. One honest conversation.

It might be the most important thing you do this week.

Most people think stress is personal. Something you push through. Something you don’t bring to work.

But the law disagrees.

Preventing work-related stress isn’t just good for people — it’s the law, according to the Health and Safety Executive. Employers have a legal duty to protect workers from stress, in the same way they’re required to manage any other health and safety risk.

And yet most people stay quiet.

35% of workers say they’re not comfortable telling their manager they’re under high or extreme pressure. For workers under 25, that figure climbs to 39%.

That silence has a cost. Stress, anxiety and depression now account for 52% of all work-related ill health in the UK — almost a million workers, and over 22 million working days lost last year alone.

15% of workers admit that stress and fear have already led to mistakes that could have been prevented.

This isn’t weakness. It’s a system that hasn’t made it safe enough to speak up.
If you lead a team — this week is a good time to ask properly. Not “you alright?” in the corridor. A real conversation.
If you’re struggling — you’re not alone, and you don’t have to wait for a crisis to ask for help.

Most people don’t call it stress.

They call it being tired. Being busy. Just having a lot on.

But there’s a difference between pressure and stress — and most of us have been taught to ignore it.

Stress, anxiety and depression account for 46% of all work-related ill health in the UK — and 55% of every working day lost to ill health.

That’s not a personal failing. That’s an epidemic hiding in plain sight.

And the signs aren’t always obvious. They show up as broken sleep. Not wanting to be around people. Finding it hard to cope with everyday things. Losing the joy in life.

Sound familiar?

This Men’s Health Week — check in on yourself. Not just the people around you. Yourself.

🧐 When did you last sleep properly?
🧐 When did you last switch off?
🧐 When did you last feel like you?

You don’t have to be in crisis to ask for help. You just have to be honest.

This week is Men’s Health Week and we’re not going to look away from the numbers.

Su***de is the biggest cause of death for men under 35 in the UK.

Three quarters of all su***des in England and Wales are male.

Half of all men have struggled with their mental health at some point — yet fewer than half ever sought help. And 30% didn’t know where to turn.

That’s not weakness.

That’s silence that’s gone on too long.

This week we’re talking about it. Every single day. Because awareness without action changes nothing — and one conversation can change everything.

If you’re struggling right now, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
