100th year 2023 What we are about:
Nottingham HF is a friendly, long established walking club. Coach fare is £10. These usually take place in the summer.

We run fortnightly coaches mainly to Derbyshire and Staffordshire, but also to Leicestershire and Yorkshire. The use of coaches allows us to plan more interesting linear walks rather than circular walks based upon a car-park. On each trip three levels of walk are available: 10-12 miles, 7-8 miles and 5-6 miles and are led by experienced walkers. Coach pick-ups are at Keyworth Square, County Hall (West Bridgford), then in the centre of town on Maid Marian Way (outside Tescos) and close to The Nuthall (Nottingham Road, A610). For more details on coach pick-up points (including parking), other walks, holidays and social events see the club website: www.nottinghamhframblingclub.co.uk. You can also find us on: https://www.meetup.com/Nottingham-HF-Rambling-Club/ If you would like to join one of our trips you should reserve a place by phoning the number supplied with the walk. We also organise Wednesday car rambles meeting at a pub and involving circular walks that usually last the morning of about 4-5 miles ending in a pub lunch. These walks are usually nearer to home in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. We also organise fun days out on Wednesdays including Alpaca walks, Boules Matches, Croquet Matches and Barge Trips on local canals.

Photos taken on the Notts HF Wednesday car/bus ramble 23rd September 2026 . A circular walk, 7 miles in length. Nine walkers (+1 dog) and an old lady joined us for lunch. Starting from the 'Air Hostess' community run pub in Tollerton we walked along a lane to the church and then out into the fields along a track by the local airfield. We had a coffee stop at Clipston Farm Shop and fed the animals before returning to the Air Hostess for an alfresco lunch mid afternoon.

Photos taken on the Notts HF Wednesday car/bus ramble 9th September 2026 . A circular walk, 8 miles in length - longer than planned in the Gotham area. Seven walkers in the group (+1 dog). A visit to the Rushcliffe Golf Club for some liquid refreshment and then lunch at 'The Star' at West Leake before returning to Gotham on footpaths through farmland. Hazel (the dog) once let off her lead thoroughly enjoyed herself. But towards the end found a muddy puddle. She returned back to Gotham in disgrace, covered in mud!!!

I visited the 'Pop Up Cafe' on the Long Stairs in the Lace-Market area of Nottingham this morning Saturday 5th September 2026. It was organised by Janine Tanner of NRR Tours - If you wish to join the NRR group on Facebook and view it, you will have to have your own personal page.
NRR tours is a private group and will not allow other groups on Facebook to gain access.
Janine and one of our Notts HF Wednesday walks' leaders, Chris T will be organising a city walk around Nottingham for our club talking about the history of the buildings and places on route. It will take place sometime in January.

Photos taken on the Notts HF Wednesday car/bus ramble August 26th. A circular 7 mile walk in the Lambley - Burton Joyce area. Nine walkers in the group (+1 dog). We started from the airfield on Green Lane up the hill from Lambley and set out into the surrounding countryside. Weather forecast - thunder storms - nothing happened. The walk ended at the Woodlark pub in Lambley. We sat outside enjoying a light lunch (three shared bowls of freshly cooked chips - not French Fries!!!) and some liquid refreshment before returning home on the bus.
