Timeless Curiosity presents a range of Steampunk inspired resin-set jewellery and mixed media gifts. All items are hand crafted by Nikki England in my home in Nottingham, UK. I began experimenting with resin and cogs when recovering from my second hip replacement operation in January 2014. To start with, it was a hobby shared with my two daughters (Jasmine and Lily) to fill time until I was able t

Sadly, I've had to cancel my stall at Sherwood Open Gardens on Saturday as I'm still not well enough. Very disappointed. Please do head up to the Woodthorpe Park Plant shop and other venues to appreciate both the gardens and crafts that are there. It's another fabulous event that I'm sad to be missing.

My dogs and works by other local artists are still on display in Sherwood Shops, so you have this weekend to admire the Sherwood art gallery if you haven't made it down yet.

Here's another Procreate colouring time lapse, this time of Nails the chihuahua.

The dogs are up in the PDSA charity shop window. Never the easiest to get photos, so you know what you have to do? Get yourself down to Mansfield Road to enjoy all the art in shops.

There's lots of lovely art to admire and there will be more at the Secret Garden Craft Fair tomorrow. Sadly, I've had to make the difficult decision to cancel my stall. My health is not playing nicely. Very disappointed but please, get yourselves down there and enjoy the delights from all the other artists, makers and crafters. Hopefully I'll be back on form for next weekend's open gardens.

Labrador in golden, chocolate and black versions. Do you have a favourite?

Today, I've been doodling a Labrador called Binz. I'm about to give them the Procreate treatment - should they be Golden, Chocolate or Black?

Feeling defeated.

Unfortunately, I will not be at day 2 of the Ashbourne Art Trail today. The load in to St Oswald's Primary School yesterday morning was too much for me. After spending the day in pain, I made the difficult decision to pack down and leave.

I have psoriatic arthritis, alongside boring old osteoarthritis and joint hypermobility. I also had my first hip replacement aged 37 thanks to a delightful condition called synovial chondromatosis, so I'm not new to this chronic pain lark. However, in all my years of selling at markets, I have never previously had to leave early because of my health. (I did once cancel an event due to COVID, but that doesn't count). I'm the sort of stall holder that stays to the end, even when the market is dire, so leaving a busy and vibrant event was hard. My world shrinks ever smaller.

To be honest, I realised when I first arrived at the venue that the load in was beyond my capabilities and should have left before setting up but I didn't want to 'give in' to my conditions. Lesson learnt. (Or is it?) As a result, I will spend today lying in a darkened room, regretting my life decisions and trying to work out what I CAN actually do

I hope everyone going to Ashbourne today has a lovely day, sorry I won't be with you.

I've recently discovered Procreate on iPad as a way of colouring my original pen and ink drawings. It's good fun but I don't think I'm ready to give up my paint brush just yet. However, sometimes I'm reluctant to paint drawings because I like the black and white version of the original. With Zina's portrait, Lily wanted the original unpainted but I've been able to add a little colour digitally. Best of both worlds. Procreate also creates an exportable time lapse so I can share my first attempt of using it.

Anyone else use digital tools to colour their own and ink drawings?

Meet Zina. A fine model for one of my latest artworks. Her portrait will be on display in the PDSA during Sherwood Art Week. Cards/prints will also be available but the original's off to grace the walls of . Looking forward to seeing it in situ xx
