Cold, autumnal days call for big bowls of homemade soup and warm cheese scones for lunch. We’ve got the most delicious courgette, cheddar and basil soup on the menu today, as well as roast Mediterranean veg soup and some very delicious quiches too- feta and tomato or cheddar and onion. Oh hi there sandwich of dreams- free range chicken, avo, home made pesto mayo and salad…. What’s not to love? Well, unless you don’t like avo! In which case, we have many many more to choose from. So here is my latest creation, lemon, pistachio, raspberry and rose cake. I may have done some ‘quality control’ this afternoon to make sure it’s ok for the tearoom fans, and I can confirm it’s very delicious! Hello Tearoom Lovers! Great news…. My beautiful window is finally back after it being smashed! I’m sooo pleased! It’s very timely too as we are back open tomorrow after our holidays- too much rosé, lots of posh food, many many dahlia gardens and spending time with my lovely big sis made for a wonderful week off but I’ve got my alarm set super early for tomorrow morning to get my bake on before we open to you lovely lot at 10:30. I’m so sorry for tonight’s very sad news. She was wonderful and so inspirational to so many of us.

She has been such a constant presence in all of our lives and I’m sure will be greatly missed by us all.

Three years ago today I married the love of my life, fellow partner in crime and the biggest tearoom fan of them all (although I think that’s because he fancies the owner….) 💖💖NOW SOLD💖💖💖This week has been really tough with lots of no shows for afternoon tea, and today we’ve had a cancellation an hour before they were due in. Yesterday I had to turn away three other tables because we were waiting for the booking that never turned up. We all work so hard to make sure that every afternoon tea is perfect and the hours and hours of preparation that happen before we open every day mean it’s really disheartening when people just don’t show up. Would anyone like to buy the afternoon tea that’s been lovingly prepared for today because otherwise it’s going in the bin. We can be flexible on time if you’d like to eat in, or it can be boxed to take home. It’s usually £16.25 per person but it can be yours for £14.50 or (£13.50 takeout) per person and can be for either two or three people. Call me if it tickles your fancy on 01606227927. Super duper tasty lunch alert!! We have some very delicious quiches on offer for lunch today. They smell delicious and they are hard to not eat every time we go in the kitchen…. so I think you’d really be helping me and the team out by coming in to eat them because I’ve never heard the saying a quiche a day keeps the doctor away and I’ve definitely had more than one this week…. Hard to believe I’m writing this in July- but it’s so cold and wet today, I’ve put soup back on the menu!
