Nº 4 - In 2004 we were 'on the money’...
.. quite literally when our Jersey 1204-2004 logo and illustrations were printed on special commemorative One Pound Notes. This was all part of the 800 year anniversary and celebrations of Jersey's unique relationship with the British Crown and we were delighted to be the chosen agency to design and produce a memorable brand and suite of logos and illustrations.

Nº 1 - Winning not one but THREE International Design Awards with our work for Jersey Tourism

Happy Birthday to The Idea Works; we are 25 years old today - St David's Day, of course! Hard to think that Richard Lumborg & Martyn Aubert 's hair was ever anything other than grey.

Our very first job was for Le Riche Auto, and 29,035 jobs later, we are still doing work for them and some of the most wonderful clients. We have worked with some very talented creative people who have spread their wings worldwide. We have battled through ups and downs, recessions and, of course, covid. However, we have managed to stick to our original objectives of being creative, having a strategic approach and probably most importantly, being honest with clients and staff.

We were once confused for the eighties pop duo Wham - Which one is George Michael and which one is Andrew Ridgeley?

25 years ago, it used to be Young Guns Go For It, but now it is Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go to work!

Just spent a very pleasant morning at the Stade Santander/Jersey Rugby club enjoying a delicious breakfast and watching the mighty England Rugby team in training. Huge thanks to Santander International for the invite :-)

We had an almost impossible deadline to design, source images and write the copy for a 24pp brochure in three days for a clients exhibition in London, but we managed it. Then the client said, " Can you print 250 copies and oh, and by the way, we have run out of business cards."

We only had 24 hours to print and deliver; we managed with thanks to Mark & Jordan at Charing Cross Print Two great guys with fantastic customer service, excellent printing and a positive attitude to helping their clients out. We ended up with a very happy client thanks to these guys - if you need any digital printing in London, then we thoroughly recommend Charing Cross Print

“The Active team are very excited about the announcements made by the Minister for the Economy yesterday that will enable the Fitness industry in Jersey to start offering some activities from the 12th June and look forward to welcoming you back into the facilities again.

We wanted to let you know that we’re currently working on our re-opening plans for the leisure centres (Fort Regent, Les Quennevais and Springfield) which will focus on ensuring we have safe, hygienic facilities that make the most of our unique indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring we can give you plenty of space to use for your chosen exercise.

Due to the current guidance, our centre’s will not be able to open fully initially, so we are working through how we will resource and operate the facilities, and how that might affect opening times, services and the membership when we first re-open.

A number of the Sport Division staff are currently redeployed into more essential parts of Government so, it may take us a little time to recall them, undertake essential training updates and heat up our pools.

Please bear with us whilst we work our way through all the details at our multi-sport venues as the guidance being received from a number of Sports Governing bodies varies.

We’ll notify our customers as soon as we have the finer details confirmed but we’re working hard to get the centres open for you as soon as possible.”

It is great news that last night’s Islands Lotto - COVID 19 - Charity Raffle Draw raised over 14K for Charities in the Channel Islands. The money raised will be given to a selection of hard working local charities who need all the help they can get, literally on the front line during these challenging times, helping those who are most in need and vulnerable.

The Idea Works are delighted to have given their time to lend a helping hand with this initiative, and even more delighted with its success.

The first Channel Islands charities to benefit from everyone’s generosity are Grace Trust, Caring Cooks, Guernsey Welfare Service, Age Concern and Good Companions.

And finally... congratulations to the lucky jackpot prize winner who scooped over £7,000 - Everyone’s a winner!!!

the community.

This is a walk with a difference as walkers set out in the darkness from Corbiere at 4.30am, illuminated in hi-vis vests and carrying battery operated candles, following the railway walk from St Aubin’s and reaching the finish line as dawn breaks at approximately 6am.

Six charities have benefitted from the generosity of The Idea Works and three other sponsors of last year's Jersey Film Festival despite it having to be cancelled due to health and safety reasons.

Brighter Futures Jersey Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, Beresford Street Kitchen, the NSPCC Jersey, Jersey Hospice Care and Autism Jersey all collected a cheque for £1,250 yesterday after the four sponsors - Saltgate, Rathbones, Dandara and ourselves - agreed that the monies they had pledged should still go to these worthy causes.

The organising committee and sponsors are currently working hard to resolve the issues which hampered the 2019 event and hope to announce the dates for this year's film festival - the 25th time it will have been staged - in the coming weeks.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Howard Davis Park for these hugely popular outdoor screenings later this summer.
