September 2017 closed for us with our ride with KPMG on 29 September. This ride started at The Mere Hotel and with over 70 riders, the group was split into 6 bunches. As well as Rich, the other professional riders leading each bunch were Rob Hayles, Chris Newton, Craig McClean, Rebecca Raybould and Abigail Dentus. This year saw a couple of new routes being ridden, out towards Chester, which was fairly flat and very social! Though all riders started out going in the same direction, there was a slight deviation for some, so essentially one route was 150km and the other, 120km. Again, we were lucky with the weather. The day was completed with a fun prize giving ceremony at the end. Fancy us organising an event like this for your company?

On 22 September we were back in partnership with Squire Patton Boggs, this time in Cheshire! We started and finished at the Tytherington Club. Two routes were supported by two of our experienced motorbike outriders and on the day, the weather was fantastic! Rich and Jake rounded off the day with a Q&A with the riders, and explained the work that goes into trying to reach the top level of the sport.

After a helping out on a couple of charity rides earlier in the month, on 15 September we were back on more familiar territory with our regular Corporate ride for LAR Ltd. The ride started and finished at the impressive Mottram Hall. We provided two different routes with two different lunch stops, both equally as delicious! In support of each route was a professional cyclist, a motorbike outrider and we also had an experienced mechanic on hand in case of any of those last minute hiccups. Our riders tackled the famous Mow Cop and a segment up Birtles and we just about managed to miss the rain! Haute Rouleurs are already looking forward to seeing the familiar faces next year and hopefully some new ones to break in. Could an event like this be your next corporate team building day?

Another great success in our busy month of September was the The Factory Youth Zone Charity Ride on 1 September, backed by Sports Tour International. The ride started at Bowden Rugby Club and was a fairly drama free day apart from one poor rider who broke their rear tip right at the start line, but we were able to save the day by sourcing another bike at short notice for them to complete the ride! This event was a mass sportive so we provided two motorbike outriders to keep everyone safe. The riders refuelled for lunch at the Talbot in Biddulph and were rewarded with a delicious BBQ at the end of the ride, whilst the kids cleaned the bikes!

September was a busy month for us here at Haute Rouleurs! Just one of the events we were involved with was the Tour de Nando's Charity Ride. This was a 4 day event starting and finishing at a different Nando's restaurant each day, what's not to love?? We provided lots of advice leading up to the event and supported the 4 days of riding with a professional rider and a motorbike outrider. The ride was a great success and raised a fantastic £28,389.34 for Nando's Fighting Malaria!

Report: Squire Patton Boggs Yorkshire Sportive Ride – 30th of June

Looking to top the Cotswold ride, the moved to the Yorkshire area starting / finishing at the Devonsh*te Arms Hotel. There were 2 routes on offer for the day. Unfortunately, there were a few roads works that the riders had to navigate at the start but motorbike outriders present on the day did a fantastic day ushering everyone around.

A few targeted Strava segments kept things interesting and techniques of such laying off the bunch and riding back up just as the segment started was utilised. All returned safely and was welcome to a BBQ cooking up burgers (good for morale) was served.

The last event will be held in Cheshire on the 22nd of September. Fingers crossed for nice weather!
