As a Scheduled Monument and Grade I listed structure, it’s fantastic to see this important conservation project moving forward. These vital works will help ensure the Keep remains structurally stable for the next 800 years, safeguarding its heritage for future generations.

The works are coming along nicely at the National Coal Mining Museum👷‍♂️

Good progress across the site with plenty happening, including:
• Lime mortar repointing
• Roof repairs
• Rainwater goods upgrades
• Window replacements and restoration
• Masonry indents
• Lime wash to selected areas
• Timber restoration and decoration

It’s great to see the steady transformation while maintaining the character of the buildings intact.

On Friday we had the opportunity to visit the Rowntree’s Library in York, where we previously carried out restoration work.
Seeing the building now, fully restored and open to the public, was incredibly rewarding. The space looks fantastic, and it is great to see such an important part of York’s heritage preserved and brought back to life for the community to enjoy.
Projects like this remind us why restoration work matters so much: respecting the history, craftsmanship, and character of a place while giving it a new future.

A brilliant outcome and a pleasure to have been involved.

We’re delighted to announce that Halestone Restoration has been awarded the Restoration Works Project at Clitheroe Castle Keep, one of Lancashire’s most treasured historic landmarks. Standing proud above the town for over 800 years, Clitheroe Castle has witnessed centuries of history.

Our team now has the incredible opportunity to help preserve and protect this iconic structure for future generations.

This project is more than restoration, it’s about honouring the craftsmanship of the past while ensuring the castle continues to inspire the community for years to come.

🏛 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐚, 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 🏛

We’re delighted to see the works coming to completion on our portico restoration project at this magnificent Grade I listed building in Belgravia, London.

All new replacement Portland stone ashlar, string mouldings, cornice, and balcony nosings have now been carefully installed, each piece fixed back with stainless steel brackets and fixings to ensure longevity and structural integrity.

Only a few repairs to the existing stonework remain, along with the installation of the new steps and landing, before this stunning entrance is fully restored to its former glory.

We are proud to be helping preserve Britain’s architectural heritage for future generations!
