Keep it wet, keep it moving…water,soap and chemicals dry out a lot quicker in direct sunlight. If you’re not paying attention they will soon dry out and can cause chemical burns and watermarks…

Wheels probably see the most action, going through puddles and mud. Not to mention the brake dust sticking to them, so it makes sense to protect them like you do with the bodywork and glass! Not only for an extra layer of protection but ease of cleaning aswell!
