✨ KS5.2 Update ✨

KS5.2 have been attending Mahdlo every Thursday, where they have thoroughly enjoyed using the gym equipment and taking part in friendly games of pool. πŸŽ±πŸ‹οΈπŸ’ͺ

In class, the students have been working incredibly hard revising for their exams and making plans for the future as some of them approach the end of their time at Springboard. πŸ“–πŸ“†

✨They have also enjoyed building Lego as a way to support emotional regulation, as well as participating enthusiastically in a range of group activities in the classroom such as creating a wall of art, board games etc. πŸŽ¨πŸ–ΌοΈπŸŽ²β™ŸοΈ

🌟 It has been wonderful to see their hard work, resilience and positive engagement both in and out of the classroom. 🌟

πŸͺ΄ A few weeks ago in horticulture, our students planted vegetable seeds into little pots for them to sprout and grow. πŸ«›

πŸͺ This week, they learnt how to transfer the small plants into the ground to flourish. Firstly, they cleared the area of rubbish and weeds using a rake and a trowel, then they turned the surface of the soil over with a small gardening fork to soften it and therefore making it easier to plant in. Next, they spread growing material over the surface to add nutrients to the soil and dug holes to accommodate each plant. πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎ

🫜 Once the plants had been transferred, they gave them a good watering using a watering can. Finally, they covered the new plants with a net to stop the pigeons and other birds eating them. 🐦

πŸͺ΄ Once the plants have grown fully, the students will harvest them and take them home to eat. Happy days!!! πŸ₯•πŸ“

πŸ‘ Well done, SPT1! πŸ‘

Recently, students in SPT1 organised a collection in support of the local food pantry. Thanks to their kindness and generosity, they made a real difference to those in need within our community.

✨ We are proud to share that the students have now received a lovely thank you card from the food bank, recognising their efforts and support πŸ’Œ

✨ Celebrating Our Level 1 Childcare Learners! ✨

Our Level 1 Childcare students have been extending their learning this week by exploring mark making in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as they prepare for progression onto Level 2.

Using a range of open-ended resources including paint, natural materials, cotton wool and everyday objects, students investigated how mark making supports children’s Physical Development, Communication and Language, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

It was fantastic to see our learners thinking like practitioners, considering how simple activities can support children’s development through creativity, exploration and play.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity shown throughout the session as students continue to develop the skills and knowledge needed for their next steps in Childcare.

Our Level 2 Sports students have been putting their skills to the test at the driving range! πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

As part of their practical development, students have been working on their coordination, technique, and focus while trying out golf in a real‑world setting. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they take on a new challenge and support each other along the way.
Great effort from everyone involved – keep it up! πŸ‘
