The difference in vibe and atmosphere is striking I think😯

You can hear more about the place I was in mentally when I created the first piece, in the video I posted on my yt channel, but I think the difference between who I was in 2017 and where I was in 2022 is almost palpable in these two pieces. Which I think is fascinating!

I'm nearly done reading The Southern Reach trilogy, and my head is buzzing with slightly nebulous and chaotic inspiration.
I used to be adamant about not wanting to write or illustrate comics, but I'm finding myself more and more drawn to narrative structures.
However, I'd want to explore ways of telling stories that isn't too logical or organised. Not linear, or traditional. More strange and perhaps a little uncomfortable...
I need to think more on this...
So many ideas and so little time to do it all...
In the meantime, here's an oldie but goodie that never did well online but I always loved πŸ˜‰

Some paintings about flowers...🌸🌻πŸ₯€

Sort of...
I don't think my work can ever really be described as being "about" the subjects it depicts, at least not in any literal way.

My pieces are more often than not about me, and hopefully a little about you, too.

And sometimes they are also simply for the fun of it, because that's also what art is about.

The full time-lapse of this piece is now available on *the platform that allows me to make a living through subscriptions* (ott? Maybe πŸ˜… but I need to mention it however I can 😩)

I'm struck by how much this one speaks to me now that I'm about to become a mother. The whole mini series it was a part of was created before I got pregnant, but each one now echoes how I feel about it in a different way.

This one in particular feels like my trying to get to terms with how I envision my own independence and freedom, and adapting to the ways in which those concepts with change as my life does around them.
It's important to accept the nature of things that are not within your control...

This piece took me 5 years to finish. 5 YEARS.πŸ˜…
Not because it was unusually challenging, but because life happened, we moved houses, I struggled with the direction I wanted it to take, my style changed...you know how it can go...
Anyway, here's EBB. πŸŒŠπŸŒ…

A piece that feels very resonant with what this year promises to hold for me ; becoming a mother, evolving as an artist and person, having to grieve some parts of me and let go of control to better become one with my own life...

I hope it can speak to you too, and I'd be curious to hear what it says if you are open to sharing...❀️

Much love for this new budding year my dears, may it hold many wonderful things in it's unfolding for you and those you love...

Oh hi πŸ˜…
I didn't mean to disappear... I'm sorry 😐
But hey, turns out my body is growing a human so I think I have a good excuse because it's been hitting me like a damn truck 😩

I've been pretty much out of commission since mid-august and am barely functional again!
And then my PC died and I had to buy a new one I can't afford and that one is having problems of its own too so I still don't have a PC and it's been over a month and....aaaaaaaaaah
But anyway.
All is good.
It'll all work out.
Hopefully.

So.
Hello again.
I'm going to try and upload consistently again as best I can but most of my files are on my unresponsive PC so my capabilities are limited but I will have a proper end of year sale soon so hopefully things will be sorted by then.

But yeah.

The human I'm growing was very much planned and wanted by the way so that's very cool and very exciting 😊 Now if the process could smooth down a bit and stop making me short-circuit half the day, I'd greatly appreciate it. 🫣

So hello again, I missed you, I'm (sorta) back, new art soon!
Much love 🫢

If you've been on small business socmed the last few days, you may have witnessed some of the absolute pandemonium unleashed by Trump getting rid of what was called the De Minimis exemption, which allowed packages of a value less than $800 to enter the US customs-free.
πŸ‘Œ
This was what allowed so many of us international small businesses to have a good solid customer based in the US.
πŸ¦…
Now, Trump getting rid of this exemption so suddenly was chaotic enough, but what really sent everyone reeling is that he imposed that tariffs be paid BEFORE a package reaches the US border. Which is simply not how customs are usually collected.
Usually, customs are paid by the importer to US customs directly, when the package reaches them.
πŸ˜…
This resulted in many postal services around the world halting shipping to the US temporarily, either in protest or simply to give themselves the time to figure out how to deal with this.
πŸ€ͺ
This is just another hit in the endless series of punches to the gut that small businesses have had to endure the last few years, and I would be lying if I said I don't feel exhausted, cynical and scared.
πŸ₯²
But one has to keep moving forward, and I'm still lucky enough for some of my products to be exempt from tariffs, which is not everyone's case.
😬
So that was just a quick little update so you know where my shop stands in all this.
I'm hopeful I'll resume normal shipping very soon.

Much much love to every single one of you for being here, you have no idea how much every like, comment, purchase, patron and share means to me. You rock ❀️

What calms your brain and brings peace back to your mind?

Personally, nothing has ever come close to lying in the grass, either under a giant sky or under a tree canopy. So long as I can feel grass between my toes and smell life on the wind...

I could really use a little of that today πŸ˜…
How are you all feeling?

Should I bring the last piece back as a design? It is quite old now (as is the first piece) but it keeps being stolen and resold online πŸ˜…

Today's theme is TRANSPARENCY.πŸ₯ƒ

Another one of those thematics who's symbolic and poetic potential is endless and so one I revisit regularly and with active enthusiasm (if some trepidation as it somewhat feels like riding a bike, where you aren't too certain you haven't forgotten all you once knew how to do).

Some years ago, (before I was probably truly qualified to do so) I wanted to make a course on how I paint transparent objects, but time is a relentless and unforgiving overlord that cares nothing for plans and ambitions and so here we are. Maybe one day...perhaps, hopefully, delusionally...

The first piece in this carrousel is from...2016?2015? A while back anyway. But it holds some of the feelings I'm slowly turning back to in my work...I love its melancholy, its strangeness...perhaps some day I'll repaint it and see how different it would look, almost 10 years on...

This is all rather new to me!

You may have seen me mention this a couple of times already, but my big 2025 project (alongside getting back to Yt) is painting all the zodiac signs!

I think my work is well suited to symbolic systems, and while my ultimate ambition is to make a full Tarot deck some day, I decided to start with a slightly more manageable series of work to test the waters.

Patrons will have seen all my progress so far (sketches and drawing videos and all) so you can head over there for more in depth looksies, but here's a sneak peak into my first sign : Gemini.
Yes, of course I started with my own, watcha gonna do bout it eh? I'll do 'em all in good time, don't you worry your lil butts.

Listen, this is probably not the wisest thing to admit, but I am not much of an astrology person. Nothing against it, I just never really looked into it, so the research process for this series is both extensive and fascinating, and I can't wait to share each sign with you all.
Humans really are fun little creatures...

I will of course have prints (maybe foiled even, woaw, fancy) and stickers, and maybe perhaps a calendar some day.

But I need to start painting for that to happen, so I better get back to it eh?
Much love my delightful peeps, take care of yourself, and do tell me which sign you're most excited to see in the comments!
