Have you heard about our Kinder Kaylee?! It’s our portable Ceilidh Club - for kids! We will come to your home, hall or festival and bring our brand of dance, fun and excitement for both kids and families to enjoy!

What can you expect at the Kinder Kaylee? All the dances are based on traditional Scottish Country Dances, but simplified for the age group. Expect modified versions of the Gay Gordons, Eightsome Reel, The Dashing White Sergeant and many more! The session lasts around 60 minutes but the duration can be altered upon request!

The dances are explained by our highly trained Kaylee Kallers - they talk the children through the steps both before and during the dances. Our current Kinder Kaylee facilitator is Virginia , who studies Actor Musicianship at the Guildford School of Acting and also plays many instruments!

A bit about her: “Hello! I am Virginia, the facilitator of the Kinder Kaylee! I study Actor Musicianship and play a few instruments from Flute to Banjo! I particularly enjoy playing Scottish/Irish folk music. In my summers off, I work at a children's summer camp in Rock Hill, New York as the Outdoor Adventure specialist, whilst dabbling in the Rock Band and Theatre department. As well as my summers spent there, I have been learning to ceilidh dance since I was 6 years old; Scottish children tend to know all the dances inside out by the time they are 18! At Kinder Kaylee, I make sure the sessions are lighthearted, good fun and that you leave wanting to come back for more! I believe a ceilidh can leave you feeling happy and brighten your day.”

Happy International Day of Forests, folks! 🌳

The International Day of Forests was established on the 21st day of March, by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on November 28th 2012. Each year, various events celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests and trees for the benefit of current and future generations. Countries are encouraged to undertake efforts to organise local, national and international activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns, on International Day of Forests.

The Ceilidh Club Story

We started the Ceilidh Club in December 1998 with the purpose of providing the best 3 hours of entertainment in London. Yes, we’re up against stiff competition: The Globe, The West End and a million comedy clubs, however we try to offer you a unique night out.

Over the years the club has grown from a handful of friends and family to something much bigger. We now hold about 40 events a year - mostly at Cecil Sharp House, but also in Baden Powell House, Hammersmith Town Hall and the London Welsh Centre.

We’re corporate as much as we have to be and we’re as professional as much as we can be, however since we’re all human with good intentions and common sense we think everyone should be treated like that. As someone wise once said a sense of humour is common sense dancing. We like to treat people with both at the Ceilidh Club

Above all we love taking a small piece of Scotland’s culture to an international market. London is a wonderful city full of lots of people from all over the world. We are truly honoured that so many people want to come along to the Ceilidh Club and share their energy (and sweat) with us. Seeing so many different nationalities coming together in a shared experience that brings happiness and joy is wonderful to see and experience and when we join together at the end of the night for Auld Lang Syne we hope, in a small way, we’re making people’s lives that bit happier.
